Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Colin Benders

Only recently have I become aware of modular synth streams and the like - these ones by Colin Benders (for example) do feature some JMJesque ambient goodness: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1141793094?t=2h48m16s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TDERVgisOQ (Should be something for JMJ to consider, IMO ...

Re: Welcome To The Other Side

The download code grants access to a binaural wav file (without audience noise). It's shorter than the cd due to the lack of this audience noise. I provided a cue file for it. Ah, alright. Somewhat odd that in Northern Europe, they either only have the vinyl version in stock ( CDON ) or the estimat...

Re: Welcome To The Other Side

Hopefully the binaural versions (and that they really do lack the awful fake audience noises) get a separate download at some point (without having to get the BR to rip the audio or for the download code)

(Getting uncompressed Dadwater-remastered audio isn't really that desireable to me)

PSB realized the same thing with DiscoVery Live, but still released it on DVD with PCM 48khz audio, which is far better than no release at all ;)

Re: ABBA - Swedish supergroup

It's kind of a dangerous endeavor though, as it's easy to venture into the self-parody territory. Oxygene 7-13 has this problem I'm still glad that Equinoxe Infinity did not contain a single Eminent pluck sound ;) General explanation: I think one of the most prominent, and also cringe-worthy, clich...

Very interesting takes on Jarre's music.

Re: Welcome To The Other Side

Ooh, hopefully "The Gathering" is the moody piece that preceded the concert instead of just the Oxygene 20 intro

Didier Marouani covers

I'll start a thread for these, because I do think he's got quite a bit of unappreciated gems in his repertoire (but also a lot of, let's say, schmaltzy/schlagery stuff which I'm not too keen on) - especially in the Space-Opera album: https://soundcloud.com/virtualstudioanomalies/cover-spaceopera8 ht...

Re: Stéphane Gervais (aka PsychNerD)

Wait, I'm not implying Geiss (nor Gervais for that matter) composed anything, but both Geiss and Gervais helped shape JMJs sound by assisting him. That's not that strange or uncommon at all. Oh yeah. PSB à la Bobby Orlando v. Julian Mendehlson* comes to mind. Now, if only we could get rid of Dadwat...

Re: "Que vas-tu faire" is early Calypso 3

Oh yeah, I can definitely hear it. Mash-up time for someone, perhaps ;) (Also reminds me of the similarities between the last part of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb (namely the PULSE version) and Calypso 3's last part (especially in the 2009-2011 tour), both coincidentally featuring solos of some kind)
