Re: Paris La Defence 1990-remastered/improved free download

Probably a few decades too late in noticing this but 1) I love the solo at the end of RV 4 and 2) It's the same as the sax solo on the Houston/Lyon version! (which is also only on the album/VHS releases and none of the audience recordings, meaning it was done in the studio) Wonder who wrote it? I as...

 This is some good work - like magic! Always loved these radio broadcasts. This also further supports my earlier 'the drums are live' theory

Only quibble I have is that it sounds slightly sped up or pitch-shifted?

Re: Welcome To The Other Side

Perhaps I'm a complete sourpuss but I just don't get this at all. It looks like something that might have been cool 20 years ago.

Re: Guy delacroix and others

Hi all, Couldn’t decide if this is the best place to post this one.. I’ve always wondered what happened to Guy Delacroix.. he heavily influenced me as a bass player and I’ve always loved his style.. I get that Jarre’s live work has changed somewhat but I thought it was a different bassist on the Ho...

"Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day." Dylan Thomas. I'm all for JmJ raving at the "close of day" Dear JmJ just incorporating such a concept into your One man show JmJ This way miming becomes" invisible". Improvements for...

Re: Welcome To The Other Side

Of all the performances to choose from, this is what he picks for an Electronica film release? It’s one of the shittest ‘concerts’ he’s ever done, I can’t even believe that it got an audio release tbh.

What happened between the two anyway? So odd that after such a long partnership they'd be like this. He should tell his story or shut up. The posts are deleted now but he was also bitching multiple times about the Electronica project and concerts years back ('I don't recognise the music...it isn't ...

My memory might be failing me but I'm sure the now-defunct database on here had a copy of the Oxygene IV backing track from Docklands.

Good work on the solo! Yes I find it fascinating hearing the difference between the Docklands album, Revolutions, and the radio broadcast. They're all different.... The drums are certainly live on the radio broadcast because there's lots of cymbal crashes and hi-hat flourishes that don't appear on a...

Listening to those 30 secs clips, The Opening is certainly different to the original version. Yeah, and I think it might be better than the live/PJ version. The bass line seems different and reminiscent of earlier works. I'm sure there is a bit of "Falling Down" in there. Not really, thes...

Apologies if I missed this, but is 'The Opening' a little different to 'Coachella Opening'?

Movement 6 ....Sounds like a late 90s dance track with a Zoolook-ish twist Yep Zoolook-ish + Orient Express-ish. Classic with a twist in fashion terms. Made me smile. Lighthearted. The projections on the buildings are freaking cool. Almost like good old times. :D
