Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

Currently, we are experiencing some DNS problems. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

RMI Harmonic Synthesizer demonstration

Hi all, I demoed the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer at last week's Dinosauriertreffen in Bocholt/Germany and recorded some bits to document what the instrument is capable of sonically. More info and sounds here: https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/demoing-the-rmi-harmonic-synthesizer Tracks are free...

Well I was thinking about patch chords and such. It should surely be possible to memorize those, but load them from memory? :P Yeah, why not? Take a simple tape recorder for example. It stores voltages and plays them back, if necessary. The same way should work such a device. A analog to digital co...

Sounds cool. Can you get me one for my ARP2500? the presets saving facility that is? :pwned: Possibly :) Why not? It doesn´t matter an ARP or Roland or whatever, from where the control voltage comes from. Think even about a potentiometer of something similar. As long it is secured with enough diod...

damn this shit rocks :D w8tin for Minipop :D No problem, as i´ve said, it works, but i must be sure that it also works if it is connected onto another machine. So unfotunaly you´ll have to wait unless i´ll receive the Diodes and Transistors. A friend of mine will give me the machines/parts for c...

Already sounds good from the above demo! Yeah, but fact is, that i currently have no more Transistors and Diodes.....and that it would be better to use a -real- PCB instead of a Bread-Board. Additionally are the i/o´s of the chip not really "secured", just give them once too much input v...

Ok, the Snare works also. Fact is, that it couldn´t be done with the Chip alone and some 1N4148 because the Chip itself isn´t "strong enough" on its outputs to open/close the Transistors inside of the CR78. In fact it must be a construction of -several- 1N4148, PNPs and some capacitors. ...

Looks better:

I had to admire that some instruments still don´t work, at least the Snare, the most important after the BD. So seen 7 of 13 instruments work currently.

Doesn´t look good at the moment. I have some problems with the ports and additionally there are several problems, specially on the CR78: The internal Amplifier seems only to work when the machine is in "Play"-mode (ok, this is no big problem, i have simply to push both "cancel"-...

I hope on the next days. In fact i have to put the Chip into my CR78 and perform some tests against another midified Drummer, to find out if there any delay occurs while playing. And at least a test of minimum 2-3 hours.

Looks good until now. the chip works up to 500 bpm (with additional clock out enabled on the sequencer) fired with 400 notes without problems (ok, at 500 bpm and 400 notes at 4/4 you get a delay of ca 0.5 seconds because of flushing the buffer, but who sends that amount of data at 500 bpm...). I hav...

Jup, far better.

I´m currently in the "programming phase" (as far as i have some time for it) and will try it first on my CR78 when it´s finished.

Greetings
