Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

Currently, we are experiencing some DNS problems. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Re: Metamorphoses

WAVs are only when something was actually recorded from instrument, or digital instrument exported as wav. If it's samples from sample library inserted into project, or made from VST and that VST, or library is missing, then the program won't recreate it. Same if a track is corrupt, or missing... I...

Re: Metamorphoses

If they opened the multitrack session, but some of the VSTs, or sample libraries were missing, since it's probably on new PC, than no wonder it got messed up. Very much doubt that was the case. The multitrack sessions are usually stored in plain WAVs. It was probably a session with an "alterna...

Re: Metamorphoses

And they botched it. GOL part 1 is missing the strings. It's nice for fans more on the "die-hard" side, because we have another version of this track, not so much for others. It's a different mix? Curious if they used the final recording or if the opened up the original files and messed u...

Re: Secret message in "Switch on Leon" on E2

Yeah, ge got the Ele box-set for it. Part 1, I don't remember if ge tor part 2, or he had to buy it. "He"? Why the third person? You realize both of those discoveries (coordinates on E1 and Dali on E2) were made by the same person, i.e. me? ;) Yes, I bought E2 myself. I also met briefly w...

Re: Chronologie 1 - Cover

Great job. FYI - the "whoosh" at 00:25 was originally sourced by Jarre from some sample CD, I think I do have it somewhere. Do you know what sample CD libraries did Jarre used for Chronologie album ? Unfortunately not. I found the sample by chance while looking for thunder samples for... ...

Chrono93 wrote: Sat Apr 10, 2021 11:08 pm Not sure if the file type makes any difference.
It does. WAV standard (FL, FR, C, LFE, RL, RR) is different than M4A (C, FL, FR, RL, RR, LFE)

Re: Amazonia

OK, sleeves are rolled firmly up - I'm trying to re-encode the 5.1 WAV to a 5.1 M4A file using Audacity - I'm assuming the tracks are in the order of the file name L_R_C_LFE_Ls_Lr - and when exporting them - I export straight across - using the default multi channel mapping - left - channel 1, righ...

Re: Amazonia

While I haven't been searching for Roland D-50 .syx files in a few years, I don't think I ever came across the bank_frimbert "Live Effect" ones on this site ("Synth Patch/Samples" section): http://jarrologie.free.fr/patchs/index.php?lang=en&ver=2 The bankja ones are quite wi...

Re: Amazonia

I don't think he gave them away per se (they were not exactly his patches to begin with) - I think they just included the banks he used.

Lol. Funny at first, but... actually Jarre supplying anything like this would be great. The bonus content on his releases is very much meh.

Re: Amazonia

I think it would be quite possible to assemble one decent track out of the Laura Palmer strings in p7 (fun fact: they are indeed in the same key as Laura Palmer's theme), the opening of p9 and the ending of p9.

Re: Amazonia

TBH I'm really curious as to why it's divided into 9 tracks. I mean each of them throws 10 different ideas at you; I'm just curious why isn't this just one continuous piece instead of being divided seemingly at random. The album suffers from ADHD: there's a bunch of good moments on the album, but be...

Re: Amazonia

No mention of Ridwello (JMJ's new production assistant) in the booklet. However, there's a "thanks to Jean-Michel Derain". AFAIR this is the guy responsible for the odd musical mix that was played instead of WFC before the concerts in 2010 (the mix that contained prototypes of Oxygene 19 a...

Re: Amazonia

also I was wondering for those who bought the vinyl ... does the code provided get the stereo version? or only binaural and 5.1 mix? I believe the code works the same for both releases - you get only 5.1 abd binaural. In a sense it is not important because the downmix of version 5.1 allows in absol...
