I agree with you all. I know he's an artist and he can do whatever he wants, I was just trying to analyze everything that could have changed his view, his style. That's because I compared things like Equinoxe 2 or Chronologie 1 with his more recent music and I was confused, really.

The same thing ...

JMJ After '97

Hi!

I wrote an entire post a week ago, but my computer had a problem and the post was erased.

I am a big fan of JMJ, in fact he's the one who influenced me to make my own music.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was thinking that his activity can be divided into 3 periods.

First, there is the 1948-1976 ...

I don't know about that. I mean, he used to play in bands in late '60s. I remember he said in a recent interview that he sold his guitar and his guitar amp so he can buy his first VCS3, because he wanted to "leave" the rock sound and get a new, electronic sound. I don't remember the interview, but ...

Yeah, sorry, I forgot about that. Also, there are some guitar lines in "A question of blood" I think.

Hmm, he said that he's "going to play a little guitar on his new tour, just in case. And that's actually true."

That should be interesting if it's true. He hasn't played guitar since the late '60s.

It's been 18 years without the classic Jarre. Since 1998 he has done some weird stuff. Collaborating with that guy in "Electronic Night" and those rappers, then Metamorphoses (which is the first "Electronica" in my opinion), then Teo&Tea and then these things.

I wonder about the setilist in his ...

The Siriusmo track got stuck in my mind, it's so catchy. Also I really like Heart of Noise and the Gary Numan song reminds me of Grand Theft Auto :D. The Peaches track sounds like some trap thing.

I don't know. In my opinion, he should really do something with either David Gilmour or Roger Waters. That's because they, like Pete Townshed, added electronic elements to rock music. For example, "On the run" from "Dark Side of the Moon", "Welcome to The Machine" from "Wish You Were Here" and ...

I second Roger Waters. And I'll add David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Too bad Rick Wright is gone... :( I'm not joking. My dream is to see JMJ making a song with at least one of Pink Floyd's members. I remember that he once said that he saw them performing The Wall live around 1980 or 1981 and he was ...
