Lucette Bourdin

https://lucettebourdin.com/ “The closest analogy to how I experience both the act of painting and a finished work of art is music. While I am painting I feel like music is streaming through me on to the paper. It is difficult to say whether I am playing the music or the instrument being played. My e...

Re: Equinoxe

Off the back of this thread, I've just been listening to Equinoxe Pt. 4 (Extended Mix) from the Rarities Vol 3 collection: Q1: Is the extended mix played a higher tempo than the album edit? It certainly sounds "faster" to my ear Q2: Was it produced contemporaneously with the album? Did Mic...

Re: Equinoxe

This thread now conjures up evocative images of Jarre and Geiss, in a Parisian suburb, working late... wires, wine, music and machines. Both knowing that Oxygene was a massive hit, but also aware that what was being created here was (I would say) much stronger, more structured, and more melodic.

Re: Equinoxe

Ever again an album with a DEPTH and Quality like this? Chronologie was the closest he ever got to the depth and quality of Equinoxe. I've really enjoyed Oxymore - lively, inventive, different, thoughtful - but for me, Chronologie represents the last of an era that started with Oxygene in 1976. The...

Re: Creation Concerts - (more)OXYMORE - 14/01/2023

This is great! thanks for sharing. My take on this: 1) Prelude is fab! I love the setup, that mix of high-tech and found-sound objects. The sculptural "objet d'art" that gets a close up at 6 mins is amazing, a sort of mix of glass and mechanicals that would not look out of place in an art ...

Re: Kraftwerk

Electronic Sound magazine is reporting that: "Kraftwerk announce a refresh of their live show from 3D to 2D LED screens" which sounds very much like Kraftwerk are moving towards an JMJ Electronica style show. Interestingly, JMJ said in 2016 at the time the Electronica show was on the road,...

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre, innovation at the heart of creation

It was one man miming a "live" concert on 14th July 1979. He's only coming full circle, isn't he?

Re: Touring Jean-Michel Jarre's Studio In Paris

Also, I've always loved JMJ's style - it's been inspirational! - but black Stone Island cargo pants do NOT go with a distressed brown leather jacket :D

Re: Touring Jean-Michel Jarre's Studio In Paris

Yes, great video but I agree it would have been nice to hear the sounds too. Does anybody know how long he's had this studio? And where exactly in Paris is it? How many studios has he had before this one? If we go back to the 1970s, he had the "kitchen studio" in his apartment on Rue de la...

:D This was great - thank you so much for ripping the stream and sharing Dr Jones. I really enjoyed watching. And I'd love to live in an apartment just like that!
