Space concert urges audience to be 'crew members of Station Earth'

https://www.hamhigh.co.uk/things-to-do/ilan-eshkeri-tim-peake-space-station-earth-8918364 For his score, Eshkeri drew inspiration from Jean-Michel Jarre to Steve Reich and films 2001 A Space Odyssey and Fantasia. He uses vintage instruments, a Moog, a Roland Juno-6, and a Gibson Flying V guitar whic...

The effort on the packaging really is awesome! This must take some time, so no wonder the prices are high.

I remember the Mojo award. I think that was 2010? There were some at that time who thought it was a joke (!) but that was a turning point I think.

Re: A short history of electronic music: the instruments and innovators that defined a genre

Wow! Look how history is being kind to JMJ. This sort of adulation would be unthinkable in the English music press just 15 or 20 years ago. He was derided by pretty much all music journalism. I recall scathing reviews of the Paris La Défense video release, the Images (Best of) album and the Chronolo...

Re: Moscow 1997 concert alternative video

Maybe it's the camera equipment, compared to a professional set up but the projections look really gloomy. PLD was really bright and clear, even from a distance and that was 7 years earlier. Was it a bit misty/foggy in Moscow that night?

That photo is captioned 1975 but I thought JMJ and Charlotte only met in the summer of 1976?

What headphones does JMJ use in the studio?

I recall an interview from not too long ago when JMJ was asked about the various bits of tech he prefers to use. Not synths and instruments, but consumer tech and everyday stuff. He mentioned a make and model of headphones that he admires and still uses after many years. I think they were from Sony ...

Re: 2 old NYT articles - Beijing 1981, Houston 1986

Mr. Jarre wrote a section of the concert, ''Last Rendez-Vous (Ron's Piece)'' to honor Mr. McNair, and it was one of the highlights of the evening. ''If Ron lived, he would have appreciated this so much,'' said Mr. McNair's brother-in-law, Dennis Moore, who attended.''This whole thing was such a spa...
