Re: Expirimental 2001 petition

There is also the story as told by Danièle Feuillerat, who worked at Disques Dreyfus - an account slightly different from JMJ's. The section below is taken from a long interview Feuillerat gave to Spansih site Fairlight Jarre in 2013. It's no longer on the site but it can be read at https://issuu.co...

Re: Pet shop boys

New PSB single, New PSB album, New PSB book (well, OK, it's an updated reissue, but it's new to me), yay! The album cover is a nice little nod to Actually's, but feels a bit cheap because of the "flare effect" and also because Neil's picture seems to have been mirrored (the jacket is the w...

Re: 1998 was the craziest year for JMJ (imho)

Thanks for starting this thread Dr_Jones. I agree with you guys - although not sure about RV4 as the French national anthem LOL. Yes, 1998 was a interesting year. Not everything was great, but there were a lot of different ideas and that's always good. Yeah, I know, purists only swear by the first p...

Re: Presentation

Running a poll for a couple of weeks might help with a decision. People vote once, and choose 1 non-English language, to get an idea of how many extra boards might be needed.

Cheers!

Re: Presentation

This post looks odd. The text is grammatically correct, but there are factual errors, a few numbers that look like references to annotations, and especially a link that has nothing to do with the subject. Not a real user.

Re: 1997 Oxygene 7-13 tour programme

Very good point! I had forgotten about that Complete Oxygène set... Thanks for the reminder! I've just checked, and bingo! same design team as for the tour program: something called Sin House Projects. Cool photos from the Moscow concert and same quotes spread throughout the booklet, but not in silv...

Re: 1997 Oxygene 7-13 tour programme

Ah yes, the "Room" of 1997, which got a revamp in 1998. Yes, probably the same design team. Probably with ArKaos too, as their software was used during the 1997 tour and likely for the background images of the tour program. Great show too, by the way.

It's a bottle of water - the side reads "source de Pédourès", which is located in the South of France.

Re: 1997 Oxygene 7-13 tour programme

I agree! Also nice are the neo-psychedelic vibe of the mid-90s, the earth plates moving at the bottom of each page, the text written in silver ink (not obvious from the scans, of course), and the embossed letters on the cover in the same typeface as the title of the animated film Yellow Submarine (s...

Fête de la Musique 2021

On 21 June 2021, as part of the Fête de la Musique in France, JMJ performed at the Élysèe palace, He was one of several musicians and DJs who did a set there. I remember seeing a short interview of JMJ before the event, and he mentioned Cerrone, NSDOS and Irène Drésel. Does anyone know who else perf...

Re: Update from Francis Rimbert

Believe it or not, Francis Rimbert was diplomatic and seemed sincere at the same time when talking about topics related to JMJ. Rimbert acknowledged that his period working with Jarre was a good time, He praised Michel Geiss, Dominique Perrier and Sylvain Durand. He also praised Jarre, saying he alw...

Re: The next opus

Probably Electronica 3, which he started working on in 2019 (as heard in an interview) In 2020 a few tracks were being worked on. Apparently Marcus Miller and David Gilmour are among the musicians he had planned to work with. As a collaboration album the style will likely vary from track to track. I...

Re: Pet shop boys

Funny, I'm also a member of the PSB forum and there people are complaining that this is a cash grab :-D I am getting it for the blurays, let's hope the videos are properly converted to HD. I know some of the old ones are, since they are HD on YouTube. Plus, I am really hoping for some audio comment...
