Totally agree with Jon, Shadow and Black Bird... There's really no point in those remasters for the fans (except maybe for the completists) as they already have the albums. Trying to sell them the reissues again is disrespectful ;-) What Sony could have done is some kind of retrospective of the stud...

Hopefully the back of Cities in Concert shows Lyon for good measure ;-) The Docklands cover is a nice update, albeit a bit too much "in your face" maybe. The weight of the typeface on Oxygène is too heavy. The original is a bit thinner and looks nicer. Take a close look at letter "R&q...

Hi Juno-106, and welcome!

This is a great variation on the famous RV1-2 theme! Very original cover. The intro and cymbals give it a rock feel.

Did you make it at the time when RV came out or more recently?

Thanks for sharing!

Yup, this is a pretty original cover of Chrono4. So thanks for the link.

Refreshing. And it's live. Oh, and yes she has a great voice. Check out her live rendition of Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky on YT if you need another proof.

Peace,

Hi everyone, I've meant to post a list a few weeks ago... Kind of late now... Anyways, thanks Finaero for starting this thread, some very interesting stuff here... So here is an arbitrary list of 12 covers, not in any particular order. I tried to use tracks not listed above although some of them do ...

Hello everyone, Cool to hear about Marcus Miller. I enjoy his music too! This is from Marcus Miller's semi-official site (endorsed by Miller): http://www.marcusmiller.com/disco_detail.html?recordid=192 So those 4 tracks would be: Ethnicolor, Zoolookologie, Zoolook and Diva... No bass on Woolloomoolo...

Hi everyone, I know summer has been over for a while now. I still haven't converted my old tapes. I've been side-tracked by so many personal problems that I haven't even started checking the tapes. Been a little too optimistic about my "free" time. I just wanted to let you know I haven't f...

Hello, I think the typeface used for Equinoxe is actually from the Futura family. If you look closely at the shape of the letter, you can see the Century Gothic character is more round whereas the Futura character is "cut" by a vertical line. Also the shape of the "eye" of the R ...

Jarre radio interviews: 1993 and 1997

Hello everyone, I recently found an old box of cassettes containing various radio shows (AM and FM broadcasts) that I recorded in the 90s. Some of those recordings are interviews with Jean-Michel Jarre (in French), as per the index I conveniently wrote on a piece of paper and stored with the tapes a...

Hi everyone,

A few years ago I recommended Equinoxe to a friend of mine. He got the FDM 36141-2 CD. Proper cover and disc label, but the content was actually Images. So then he bought a used LP...

Bliptronic 5000

Hi everyone, A couple of days ago I came across this little gadget. The Bliptronic 5000 is a "retro" cheesy synhesizer / sequencer, some kind of little cousin to the Yamaha Tenori-On. Several units can be daisy-chained. You can see it at http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/musical-instrum...

Documentary on Mellotron / Chamberlin

Hi everyone, For all lovers of the Mellotron and its eerie sounds, there is a documentary on DVD called Mellodrama, directed by Dianna Dilworth. It was actually released in 2009, but I just heard about it. It is available from the Mellodrama site (http://www.bazillionpoints.com/mellodrama/) and also...

Good Job! I like the cover you made. it's close to the original and you recreated the tension of it.

And it's nice to hear a cover of a lesser known track!

Thanks for sharing!
