Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

Currently, we are experiencing some DNS problems. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

I checked them and found some interesting patches that can be useful for my projects. Indeed I expected more real JMJ sounds in it and less ugly ones (probably made for the jazzy albums ;) ) However thank you again Willem! :) The problem with converting .mid banks to .syx ones still exists, because ...

Indeed I found the JD-800 bank midi files on the same Rimbert's site.

Thankyou, indeed we are not so happy in Italy nowadays
Sending P.M.

All the best :)

Converting two JD-800 .mid banks: need help, please

Hello, need a bit of help because it seems I don't find a way to do it by myself. Do you remember those two JD-800 banks that Francis Rimbert shared a long time ago? Well I have them, but in .mid format. I don't have a Roland JD-800 but I have a JD-990, so they aren't directly compatible. I use the ...

Hi, thank you very much for your comments :) both of you. well... sorry, but at the moment I don't want to share those patch programs. They were a big challenge for me too: I spent hours x day for weeks, for months trying many synths I own to obtain those FXs sounds at the level I wished. I noticed ...

You can find that choir on Emulator 1 disks. male choir and female choir. This sound was used also for example in Pet shop boys's west end girls or France Gall ella elle l'a http://www.sendspace.com/file/0swarr Actually I have that sound now. :) Found it on EMU Proteus 1!! The choir is mixed togeth...

Thanks Beeloo :) About the name is clear now... but still wondering about the number of stages thing. "The lush Sound of the Solina (TM) Ensemble is created by 3 BBD delay lines that are modulated in a unique way: There are two 3-phase modulation generators, one running at slow speed ("Cho...

so, at some years of distance since the first post about what synth was used to play Chronologie 6 bass, what is your thinking today? MiniMoog D? To me it doesn't sound as the ARP2600 bass of Equinoxe 7. Perhaps some layering of two synths (MiniMoog D and ARP2600)?!? I will try to get it from Native...

indeed JMJ used Nord Lead 1 on Oxygene 7-13 tour. I remember at the concert I attended (Milan, 1997) a break when JMJ talked about virtual anoalogs and showed to all us on the Nord Lead: for sure the main melody sound of Oxygene 4 (at least I'm sure to remember that one) and perhaps some Eminent typ...

yep!
but can I add that for most of the tracks you should also pan Eminent+Phaser on one side of the stereo panorama and the delay (300 or 330 ms) on the opposite side.
This way you get a wider impression of the sound.

SOoo we finally get it : Minipop WAS multitracked. - A credited work you did for Jarre was the development and modification of some instruments. The Matrisequencer is the most well known, but not the only one. Which more synths and instruments did you transform? I also found an idea to modify the S...

well, as others already told you, get a external soundcard. A simple USB M-Audio Fast Track PRO (if you still find it new or second hand) are good enough... or a Sapphire Scarlet maybe... anyway almost all cheap USB audiocards have decent converters for recroding. Depending on your budget you can ge...
