Yes. I once mixed that with Love Love Love to emulate the Beatles' All You Need Is Love.

Brilliant!

Not the first time JMJ has used this - didn't the Apollo 440 remix of Rendez-Vous 4 for the 1998 World Cup reference La Marseillaise as the intro?

Re: Radiophonie vol. 12 (11/2/2022)

I also use a track from Radiophonie 9 as ringtone. Which can be a problem, if a track from that album randomly pops up, I think my phone is ringing. Haha! I used to have the first few notes of Oxygene 7 as my text alert. This was 2008/9 on a Nokia. And when that piece of music was played in the car...

Re: Did Jean-Michel Jarre tamper with his biography?

Can you study at the GRM without being a member? I recall an interview where JMJ said he passed an "entrance exam" as it were, being asked to produce a piece of music concrete. The best submissions were then used to select four students to join the GRM, and he was one of them. He did a pie...

Re: Did Jean-Michel Jarre tamper with his biography?

I posted a question on this forum way back (when I first became a member) asking about JMJ's tenure at the GRM - sorry, I cannot find the post right now. I was asking how long he was a student for.... some sources I'd read suggested just a few weeks, others say for years. I could never work out wha...

Re: Azimuth Festival at AlUla

"I'll be interested in reading the translation to English whenever it comes out ... " I bought a hard copy (in French, obvs) but also a Kindle version and used the inbuilt translate function to read in English. It worked pretty well but it could only translate about 4-5 pages at a time. H...

Re: Oxymore. January 21, 22, 23 2021

Oxymore is "noisy" and chaotic but I sense this is deliberately so as a reference to the musique concrete origins of the project and Pierre Henry's bequeathed sound library. That said, my favourite track (Movement 11) plays the incredible trick of being very melodic while having no obvious...

Re: Oxymore. January 21, 22, 23 2021

The dynamic, shifting effects on the mp3 file I managed to grab are fairly restrained, no crazy fast movements. It certainly doesn't feel gimmicky.

Re: Oxymore. January 21, 22, 23 2021

Also, thank you to all users - Oxygene and Herr Dunkel and others - who have pointed out the origins of the Oxymore title (English translation: Oxymoron) and it not being a throwback reference to Oxygene. At least, not overtly. I still agree with Plate of Chips though, that this word should have bee...

Re: Oxymore. January 21, 22, 23 2021

so there is no stereo version of OXYMORE ? I managed to grab a recording from the Radio France player using Audacity software. It was saved as 320kbps MP3 format and with the "stereo" setting on but I have no idea if that setting overwrote the original binauaral transmission. It sounds st...
