I only have the souvenir of the Korg Prophecy a friend used once, it had a wonderful, beautiful and perfect sax sound. So now I am after that kind of perfectness in acoustic sounds, as the Prophecy can do it, and I thought that was that synthesis Equinoxe was talking about, was I wrong ? I don't thi...

As for its VL(acoustic emulation) stuff, perhaps maybe a little old in terms of what we have today, but they are passable and at the time of release I suspect would have been very good, certainly gives the Moss Board or Z1/Prophecy a run for its money. What would be the best rack synth for that sort o...

Alesis is not a budget-brand per se. @ Nico: good luck finding a rack mixer with 10 stereo inputs. If I were you I would go for a normal tabletop mixer... :wink2: allen & health mixers  I have no space for a tabletop mixer, I now live with my girlfriend in 25m², I can't have something else...

- avoid built-in fx, they are often of inferior quality - avoid built-in power supply to avoid interference - avoid budget-brands this is quite a fine mixer: http://www.alesis.com/multimix8line :wink2: I actually need built-in fx for live purposes, for studio recordings, I use VSTs ;) I don't think...

Jakob BC wrote:The Yamaha MG series is great and in the low end prices. Regarding the efx sections on the MG's I'd it's rather a bonus, as the tweakability of each effect might be limited.
Thanks for the confirmation, Jakob ;)

Any tips for a guy who has to buy a mixer he can put in a rack with the maximum inputs, onboard FX, for about 200€ in secondhand ? I found these ones : - BEHRINGER EURORACK UB2442FX-PRO - YAMAHA MG16/6FX It seems like Yamaha is better appreciated, as the effects are said to be better, and they are...

There is a software which can convert JD800 files to JD990 files, that's sure, as GJ said, but to go to JD990 to JD800 I'm not sure, as the engine has some changes :?

So, to conclude, a JD990 for 290€ without any SRJV card is a good deal, nah ?

I don't have space to stock a JD800, and it costs 600€ now, so this is much too pricey for me.
Furthermore, the JD800 can't handle a Vintage Card, which is a shame, really :(

I'm thinking about getting a JD800 to add to the JD990 when I have some more space and money, in some years so :P

The card was actually firstly designed for this synth, it adds a few waveforms and about 255 patches ;)
That's expensive, phew, but thanks for the info :D
