That photo is captioned 1975 but I thought JMJ and Charlotte only met in the summer of 1976?

What headphones does JMJ use in the studio?

I recall an interview from not too long ago when JMJ was asked about the various bits of tech he prefers to use. Not synths and instruments, but consumer tech and everyday stuff. He mentioned a make and model of headphones that he admires and still uses after many years. I think they were from Sony ...

Re: 2 old NYT articles - Beijing 1981, Houston 1986

Mr. Jarre wrote a section of the concert, ''Last Rendez-Vous (Ron's Piece)'' to honor Mr. McNair, and it was one of the highlights of the evening. ''If Ron lived, he would have appreciated this so much,'' said Mr. McNair's brother-in-law, Dennis Moore, who attended.''This whole thing was such a spa...

Yes. I once mixed that with Love Love Love to emulate the Beatles' All You Need Is Love.

Brilliant!

Not the first time JMJ has used this - didn't the Apollo 440 remix of Rendez-Vous 4 for the 1998 World Cup reference La Marseillaise as the intro?

Re: Radiophonie vol. 12 (11/2/2022)

I also use a track from Radiophonie 9 as ringtone. Which can be a problem, if a track from that album randomly pops up, I think my phone is ringing. Haha! I used to have the first few notes of Oxygene 7 as my text alert. This was 2008/9 on a Nokia. And when that piece of music was played in the car...

Re: Did Jean-Michel Jarre tamper with his biography?

Can you study at the GRM without being a member? I recall an interview where JMJ said he passed an "entrance exam" as it were, being asked to produce a piece of music concrete. The best submissions were then used to select four students to join the GRM, and he was one of them. He did a pie...

Re: Did Jean-Michel Jarre tamper with his biography?

I posted a question on this forum way back (when I first became a member) asking about JMJ's tenure at the GRM - sorry, I cannot find the post right now. I was asking how long he was a student for.... some sources I'd read suggested just a few weeks, others say for years. I could never work out wha...

"I'll be interested in reading the translation to English whenever it comes out ... " I bought a hard copy (in French, obvs) but also a Kindle version and used the inbuilt translate function to read in English. It worked pretty well but it could only translate about 4-5 pages at a time. H...
