Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Kind of amusing for the Tokyo concert-that-never-was to be featured there (instead of a concert that actually took place) . :P

In the museum with Jean-Michel Jarre

From Pink Floyd to U2: A new exhibition provides insights into the work of stage architect Mark Fisher. Jean-Michel Jarre was the star guest at the opening in Berlin.

"If I hadn't become a musician, I would probably be an architect, " said Jarre at the opening ceremony. " There is a strong connection between music and architecture. Both deal with space and time. Both have a clear line between point A and B as their goal - that applies to a song as well as to architecture."

Makes sense. Chris Lowe of Pet Shop Boys studied architecture too.

Looks like there's a nice JMJ section at the exhibition, I see some China sketches and the Destination Tokyo concept drawing is there too.

The city skyline as a projection screen

Jarre and Fisher had a close friendship since they had realized numerous opulent performances together, especially in the eighties. So the Frenchman can no longer get out of the narrative when he is given the floor as a guest of honour as part of the press tour of the exhibition. Jarre spends a good half an hour in the museum monologues about his experiences with Fisher and tells anecdotes about the drawings hanging on the walls.

In China, for example, lively technology was exchanged with Bernardo Bertolucci, who filmed "The Last Emperor" there at the same time. The Docklands event, held in London's East End in 1988, almost did not take place because the producer had failed to secure the appropriate approval from the district council in good time. Fisher was skeptical of the Lord from the beginning, Jarre recalls. "However, my manager said he was a cool guy." Several exhibits document the monumental performance, show the floating stage from different perspectives, helicopters converted into spotlights and in a sweeping triptych how the entire city skyline served as a projection surface.

Even some never realized show concepts can be found in Jarre's section of the museum. Judging by the designs, the associated concerts – one planned for Buckingham Palace, another for a location in the middle of Tokyo's skyscrapers – would probably have joined the above-mentioned icon ranks. They are among the most spectacular pieces of the exhibition.
