Interview Via France Inter:

New Equinoxe for Jean Michel Jarre

40 years after his album Equinoxe, the second big success of the musician, sold more than 10 million copies, Jean-Michel Jarre returns with Equinoxe Infinity . Album that is not following the first according to Jarre, but rather a reverie around the characters of the cover, the "Watchers". What has become of him who gathers millions of people for his concerts , and who has marked the history of electronic music and synthesizers, with the album Oxygène , released in 1976?

Jean-Michel Jarre: "Electro artists have a societal role to play"

On 16th November , the French musician unveiled his latest studio album, Equinoxe Infinity . This is the sequel, forty years after the day, of his fourth album, Equinoxe released in 1978. This soundtrack of ten movements is largely inspired by the use of new technologies.

How about providing some actual counterarguments instead of just attacking him personally? I listened to his review and he makes some very valid points.

I had a new release last week off Amazon and that came with a Autorip.

I've got to say that I'm actually quite surprised how much I actually like this album (Movement 10 might be my definite favorite track at the moment*).

(* = Even dethroning Paris Bourges from my #1 post-2000 Jarre track spot... would still love a lossless (studio) version of the Bourges EP, though)

To do that then one has to be a reviewer. I am not a reviewer. I listened to his review and I disagree.

Plus I can't be ar$ed to explain to others the reasoning behind my opinion.

And that somehow justifies attacking him personally. Ok.

I've listen trough the Equinoxe Infinity now and I'll put it very simple.
This is the most interesting album since Waiting For Costeau.
It's like the "real" 1980's Jean Michel Jarre suddenly woke up with some new toys to play with.
This album is a freaking master piece! :D

I've recorded vinyl WAV-files (side A & side B) through Audacity, picked up from Pro-Ject "Tube Box" phono pre-amp RCA's into the PC if anyone is interested...
(not sure how to share it other then with some OneDrive links)

I think we can agree there's nothing new under the sun in Electronic Music.
JmJ said recently everything has been done in Electronic Music.

Then how does an Electronic Music album stand out these days.

Composition ? Emotion ? Vibe ? Brilliance ? Cleverness ?

Natural ability JmJ synthesis always been weaving sounds in and out, "cooking" with synthesis ingredients..
This natural synthesis Cleverness, Brilliance Equinoxe Infinity has in abundance.

Along with some gorgeous passages of composition in every track.
So gorgeous I said Oh my Goodness.

Stephane Gervais must take credit for some of the sound design.
I'm glad JmJ wrote in sleeve notes To Stephane for his precious collaboration.

:::::

Having said this, there are things would improved Equinfinity.
I shall forward these suggestions.
