MAINZ - The tonal colors of this year's "Summer in the City" season could be enriched by a powerful synthesizer note. The French musician Jean Michel Jarre, with albums like "Oxygene" and 80 million sold pioneer of lushly orchestrated electro music, is at the top of the wish list of programmer Ludwig Jantzer.

According to the German tour promoter, the concert in Mainz will not take place.

Hi everyone

While looking at the Electronica 2016 tour page of the official Jarre site I came across 2 dates that I don't recall seeing listed on the 2016 tour posters

21 October - Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus - Berlin
23 November - AFAS Live - Amsterdam

The odd thing is that on the day before those 2 dates (20 Oct and 22 Nov as listed on the tour posters), there was a concert in the same cities, but at different venues.

I originally counted 45 concerts (summer festivals + fall tour) but there now seems to be 47 dates for 2016

Does anyone know if the 2 shows (21 Oct and 23 Nov) actually happened? Were they added later in the tour? Or were they indeed planned but cancelled or moved to the previous day?

Thanks!

Hi,
just can speak for Berlin: The Event at Dussmann (a record & book shop in Berlin) was not a concert, but a kind of a talk (with audience) and a signing session afterwards. The talk was very funny, with Jean-Michel's phone ringing during the talk and he telling a recipe for mousse au chocolat. Recordings of it can be found at YouTube.

Thank you Oxygene for the info! Now that you mention it I remember watching this interview on YouTube, and yes it had funny passages!

Regarding the Amsterdam dates, the official website mentions Heineken Music Hall for Nov 22 and AFAS Live for Nov 23. On Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFAS_Live) I found out the Heineken Music Hall was renamed AFAS Live on Jan 1, 2017. So I suspect there is just a mix-up of dates 22-23 and both names are mentioned for the same venue, but there was only 1 show on Nov 22.

"Problem" solved!

Thanks again!
