It was 7 years between Place de la Concorde (1979) and Houston (1986) and while there were the series of five indoor China Concerts in that time, why did no other outdoor, large-sale show happen? Were there any large outdoor concerts during this time that were planned, then cancelled or similar? I read a newspaper report that said London would be the next city after Place de la Concorde. What happened?

After La Concorde, he got some plans which eventually didn't go through. You mentioned London in another post, he also mentioned Tokyo and New York in the news article at the back of the La Concorde 7" single. Why they didn't go ahead is anyone's guess, but I bet it has to do with costs, politics and momentum.

Oh, there's quite a few. There's Dusseldorf in 1994, Madrid in 1993, both were with sold tickets but were cancelled due to several reasons (Madrid was weather, Dusseldorf was politics), the EoN concerts in Paris which were to happen last month were cancelled due to the pandemic. Then there were the concerts which never gotten out of planning stage like Atlanta in 1996 (due to the Olympics, I guess?) and there was Australia that same year.
