Did the Lyon concert request come after the Houston concert?

I am guessing that JMJ was approached to organise and perform Rendezvous Lyon after the Houston concert, not before? Is this correct? Only once the publicity that followed the Houston success made his concert format more widely known. If so, that means it was organised in just 6 months which is super impressive.

I guess it was all done after the Houston concert. I don't know when the city of Lyon started preparing the festivities for the Pope´s visit.

About the time-frame: that is impressive. It certainly helped that Houston was done earlier that year and Lyon was much smaller in scope.
But that happens more: Concert for Tolerance didn't take much time. Plans were to play at the Place Des Invalides a month before the concert should be held. Some promotion material still state that location, like the Chronologie 4 CD single released on that day: https://www.discogs.com/Jean-Michel-Jar ... ase/790976
