Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

Currently, we are experiencing some DNS problems. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Hi all,
Couldn’t decide if this is the best place to post this one..
I’ve always wondered what happened to Guy Delacroix.. he heavily influenced me as a bass player and I’ve always loved his style.. I get that Jarre’s live work has changed somewhat but I thought it was a different bassist on the Hong Kong cd and wondered how that came about... Besides that I’ve always wondered what happened with all the musicians from the big concerts.. he’s always had great drummers and all the keys players.. like the guy from docklands with the painful looking ponytail! Only reason I ask is for a long time it looked like most of these people were his main crew but in the last few concerts like Electronica etc it was a new group.

He is a great bass player indeed. I think he's a studio-musician mainly, so he'll pay on anything he's hired for. Checking Discogs, the last album he's played on was in 2019 so he's still doing things.

Glad to hear it,
Maybe I’m just getting sentimental in my old age and missing the days of the big shows and the albums that got me into Jarre!

I love the "old gang". The line up that takes a bow at the end of Destination Docklands is amazing. Guy Delacroix amongst them. Dominique in a purple turban, Sylvain in a tux and with wild hair, Christine wrapped in silver foil, Jo in a black hoodie, Jean-Michel in a ridiculous hat. So totally out of step with late 1980s pop culture, so totally doing their own thing. Absolutely loved it :grouphug:

I'll always remember Guy Delacroix as "the Banana Man" from PLD ;)

(And Sylvain as "Santa" from Docklands, for that matter)

Good to be able to put the names to the faces.. right about the ‘old gang’ they were doing their thing and doing it right.. I always remember thinking I was unsure of the new drummer when I first saw him at La Defense... like I could drum any better! But I do miss how JMJ managed to integrate a live bass and drums into his band.. but then he did also have a choir and a steel band in there too! Ahhhhh the good old days....ha.... banana man!
