Christer Fuglesang is going for a third spacewalk this Monday!! :D

They have to finish some job with the solar array that didn't fold/unfold very well.

The "map-alike problem is solved, and therefore the spacewalk went great. They will now tomorrow evening start the trip back to earth.

Christer Fuglesang and the STS-116 will -if everything will become as planned- most likely land in the desert of New Mexico at about 9:30 pm to night.

A nice and graceful landing with a 360° turn at 11:30 pm yesterday night.
Nasa is congratulating Christer Fuglesang and the crew of STS-116 for a very well carried out mission and
everybody feels fine. Happy ending of a 12 day story and adventure. 8) :)

When do they put Discovery on a museum? It's a bit risci to still use it, and it's my favourite of all the american space shuttles of its type, it must not get destroyed :P

"NASA is targeting the launch of space shuttle Atlantis no earlier than Sunday, Dec. 9, at 3:21 p.m. EST from the Kennedy Space Center, Fla. Shuttle program managers made the decision after a meeting Friday to review data on a problem with a fuel cutoff sensor system inside the shuttle and its external fuel tank.

Because of the length of the meeting, the managers agreed that targeting Sunday would allow the launch and management teams appropriate time to rest and prepare. The Mission Management Team will meet Saturday at 1 p.m. to decide whether to make a Sunday attempt. A news conference will be held after the meeting's conclusion."

There's going to be a delivery and installation of "Columbus", a new module to the ISS.
It is a laboratory specially constructed for the future as the main base for european explorations.

Dec. 9 -11:30 a.m. EST
"Space shuttle Atlantis' STS-122 mission to the International Space Station is targeted to launch no earlier than Jan. 2 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The liftoff date depends on the resolution of a problem in a fuel sensor system.

Early Sunday, one of the four engine cutoff, or ECO, sensors inside the liquid hydrogen section of Atlantis' external fuel tank gave a false reading while the tank was being filled. NASA's current Launch Commit Criteria require that all four sensors function properly.

The sensor system is one of several that protect the shuttle's main engines by triggering their shut down if fuel runs unexpectedly low. Atlantis' scheduled launch on Thursday, Dec. 6, was delayed after two liquid hydrogen ECO sensors gave false readings."

Whooah...that was spectacular! A very nice launch for Atlantis. :bravo:
0 - 12 000 miles/h in 2 minutes.
25 000 miles/h when Atlantis goes into orbit.

My guess is that it will pop up on youtube quite soon.

July 4th 2006. Amazing video of the space shuttle Discovery taking off; filmed by a camera mounted on the booster CLICK HERE Follows the launch from take off to the point the booster lands back in the sea. Bit blurry in the middle but it clears again towards the end.
