Thanks Shadow. I was just wondering if there was any discernible difference listening on speakers. I've just checked myself - can't hear any effect on speakers, but the stereo image is definitely wider on headphones ...shadow wrote: I used headphones. I thought that was the idea of these mixes. I can't listen to them on speakers at the moment.
Ok, so the album has 16 tracks. Pick 3.2 tracks (which is 20%) and you have a smaller, but 100% "REAL Jarre album".ralf wrote:Electronica vol.1
is not JMJ album. This is invited guests album with small JMJ part.
20% JMJ 80% invited guests.
Im still waiting for REAL Jarre album.
Well, I ordered my copy in a "retrospective" way : personally ordered it at the local music store.Velodynamic wrote:I'm still struggling with orders of this album.
MyDisc didn't work with my Visa card.

The fingerprints are different with each box. I've got M83, Moby and Carpenter.

Even if the next one is much better than this? Come on, that doesn't make sensematt222 wrote:Just went through the cd.
After all the years waiting, all the hype, I can honestly say this will be the last Jarre album I'll ever buy.
it's from the continuous mix, which you can also hear on the USB stick.Finaero wrote:Random thoughts:
* In the vinyl version, Immortals has an intro track (well, segue from the earlier track) with some machinery sounds, reminiscent of the receipt machines in Chronologie 8. Intentional musical reference, maybe?
Well we know that: If and Rely on Me (in terms of music) are on Jarre (and perhaps Garraud). I believe that The Train and the River is also mostly on Jarre minus the piano. But the rest is a very interesting mix. We now that all the other composers received a piece of music from Jarre and from there on they started working. But I hoped they added the original Jarre demos, that would have been awesome to see how the project evolved.ralf wrote:Electronica vol.1
