I'm at a genuine loss for words... Oh man :(

Edit: Thinking about it, I'm still to receive my Juno to Jupiter deluxe boxset sometime next (or the one after that) month, so curious if they'll change anything regarding those plans.

Oh man, this one hits hard. We've lost two huge players in the electronic music these weeks. The loss of Vangelis comes like a shock to me

Blade Runner's music always hypnotizes me like an essential character, forever inseparable from the film.
The Vangelis sound is eternal as he will remain.

It's a big loss for the music world!
He made a big impact on music especially for the science-fiction even though Blade Runner didn't receive an award in the US, instead of Chariots of fire.
Edit: This guy knows a lot on vangelis

Vangelis for me was the most humanist in his compositions of all the well known Electronic music composers.
Even though obviously Vangelis composed several space related albums.

JmJ for me is the most elevating taking us to a higher plane in his compositions of all the well known Electronic music composers.

Together they create this wonderful completeness.

It is no wonder they appeared on Earth so near to one another in time in their form of musical expression.

Heard it on the night radio right before my work shift ended. They played "It's 5 o'clock" with Demis Roussos and Vangelis on Mellotron. The king of majestic and emotional synthesizer music became 79. Very sad news. May them deceased icons have themselfs a concert on the other side. R.I.P mr Vangelis, Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou.

Newspaper Le Monde has an article about Vangelis's death. JMJ is quoted in it.

"it's a shock and a great loss for the world of music in general, film music and history of electronic musics, of which he was one of the pioneers" said French composer Jean-Michel Jarre to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

He now posted an excerpt from an interview with Jon Anderson where he talks about Vangelis:

It such a shame those two never collaborated again. I get why, but man, it was such a great combination.

Page of Life is good, but the final album is bit of a step down after the absolutely stellar Private Collection. There's a really good album within the stuff they recorded, but the final selection is rather confusing. I understand that Vangelis didn't want everything released, but the American version that was released included the full intro of Wisdom Chain (which is basically the man freestyling for about six or so minutes) and the absolutely brilliant (and for some bizarre reason dropped in the original release) Change We Must. It's a shame really that this was the end, because I would've loved it if they had continued working together.
