The edit is not very different, with the the most obvious change that the speeches have been cut. Oh well.
The editing is mostly made for better/smoother transitions between shots and a rare different shot here and there.

Opening titles have been slightly altered:

And this is the difference between the countdown on the live broadcast and the bluray:

BR:

Some examples. At the opening, audience shot has been replace by two shots, one of the bridge and one of the stage:

vs.

-----------

vs

And so on. So it's not very different, you probably wouldn't notice if you don't know every detail of the broadcast.

So, in conclusion: errors during the live editing have been smoothed out and the occasional shot replaced by another one for a better viewing experience.
What about the very first fireworks in "The Opening"? They missed them on the BR release too?

The same on the BR

I've not reached Stardust yet, but I suspect it's the same too

Oh for crying out loud. What a letdown. This took over a year to edit and release? :( Wow. Well, solely a "collector's item" for me then...

This is truly sabotage.
It distorted a concert that was initially well filmed with decent sound... Selling it as a collector's item after degrading it.
Then It loses its meaning to remove the main speech on the Blu-ray. We lose the context.
Or even in the audio stream between Equinoxe 4 and 7, the transition is sloppy, even though there was good interaction with the audience.
I'm waiting for my box set, but I'm obviously disappointed to have given in again.
I don't know if the book and the exclusive vinyl will save the day.

Just checked the 2nd half of the concert. There's not much difference UNTIL I saw Stardust. The climax of the song has been completely re-edited. Lots of total shots of the fireworks and lots of different shots are used. Same goes for Time Machine.

Oh, and the video drop-out at Equinoxe 4 has been erased obviously :-D

That's good to hear, although my usual glass half-empty feeling kicks in: if they were able to edit Stardust why not fix fireworks The Opening and (I presume) RV2? I'll be a broken record here, but to me the fireworks surprise during The Opening was one of the concert's strongest moments (esp. after witnessing the dress rehearsal) and I was sooo hoping to be able to relive it.

Having seen (an compared) most of the concert simultaniously, the video edit changes are for the better. For example: in RV2, you see Brian May on the back in the live stream, whereas the bluray edit, they used close ups of the guitar and front shots of Brian or overview shots of the stage. There's less audience shots in favour of what's on stage. Stardust ending goes a bit overboard with shot changes (think Chronologie 2, Barcelona), but not too much.

The changes are mostly subtle, except for a few tracks that have a total overhaul.

Agreed. There might be 2 seconds more fireworks on that track on the bluray, but that doesn't give you much of an impression as a viewer.

I am really happy with the boxset. The photobook is really nice with great pictures.
Although the speeches are edited out I really appreciate the registration of the show and have it on cd and Blu Ray.
Although i don’t have a vinyl player the vinyl is a nice addition to the box to have.
I hope a vinyl-rip shows up someday because I am really curious to hear it.

Are the images of the flying drone posted on social media included in Time Machine?

The thing for me on Stardust is the last 15-20 secs of the track and the difference between the low-level fireworks and the high level and which shot the director and/or JMJ chooses to use. From where I was standing (centrally, about 50-70m from the stage) there was an incredible series of low-level explosions just above the stage which completely filled my frame of view. It was utterly mesmerising and brilliantly conceived. It really did create an all senses bombardment of music, sound, light and energy. For those closing notes of the track, it placed you 100% in the moment. Yet the live stream during this sequence choose to use a high level drome shot, from behind the UFO tower, looking back over the audience. It was the wrong choice for that moment, and I really hope the official film uses the camera on the boom that presents the audience POV. Anyway, we shall see. Like Jote, I have no Blu-Ray player (or CD player or turntable!)
