Today I received a rare CD Version of ZOOLOOK in the mail.

It does not have the remixes of the songs and it has a red spine instead of the regular blue spine.

Catalog No. 823 763-2

I think this is a first edition from 1984. It says "Made In Germany".

Thats the same one I have. It's the original CD from the 80's. Note that the songs run in a different order to the 1997 remastered edition. The 1997 remastered edition features the same track order as the original LP and cassette, so why the CD (issued in 1985) should have a different running order I do not know. It's an oddity but no that rare I don't think.

I bought that 1984 Zoolook CD for 15 guilders (slightly more than 7 Euro). German edition. The CD has a slight green corner, which I thought was odd.

But the Sony re-issues have the non-remixes too (although Zoolookologie non remix is different from the 1984 release, which makes it a 3rd version).

Don't know if this info is going to add something new to this thread but in case it does.... :

I have the same CD as moviemaker (red spine with 'digital stereo' and with number 823 763-2) but it contains both the Zoolookologie and Zoolook remix and therefore it has both 1984 and 1985 pressed on the CD itself.
For as far as I know that is the standard issued CD. So no remaster but the original CD.

Am I correct or is it maybe somehow a little bit rare? :mryellow:

I guess it's one of the first German releases..... not that rare, but still worth having in the collection

I'm sure that this has been discussed before. The original Zoolook CD was released with no remixes only to be pulled shortly afterwards and replaced by the "remixed version".
