A bit late with this but I wanted to post my thoughts after the bluedot festival. This all applies to the tour in general, so I'm posting it here.

I thought it was AWESOME, probably the Jarre concert I've enjoyed the most (having previously seen him in 2008, 2009 and 2010).

I've been a little skeptical of Electronica I guess but when you see it live, it all makes sense. Seeing him at an outdoor concert was brilliant, so loud, absolutely thumping and with the best visuals I've ever seen. The initial 'boom' at the start of The Heart of Noise was spine tinglingly good, you really feel it!

The setlist was good and I really like how the tracks segue into each other, it was cleverly done. And it was surprisingly 'live' (I say this as someone who wasn't impressed with what I'd seen of the tour on youtube in that regard), a decent amount of the leads were played and there were plenty of little embellishments on top. It felt live, and that'll do for me. The only downer for me was the lack of an encore, so no Chrono or RV 4 :(

It's great seeing a big crowd getting into him, especially since most probably don't know his music. I went with a group of about 15 other people who barely knew who he was, and they all left as new fans  They loved it and I love that he now has a new audience.

Jean Michel looked like he was enjoying himself too :bravo:

All said, well f*cking done sir. I wish I could go back and experience it again. I felt like I was witnessing the rebirth of an artist.

well said matey! I thought exactly the same, especially at Sonar too [I was like 2nd/3rd row from the front].
I think my only pet hate is people holding up mobile phones and watching the gig thru their tiny devices and these just get in the way of the show!

Hell yeah! So happy to hear that. I've been listening to the Montreux bootleg that someone posted again and again. Love what I hear on there. I hope he blesses us by coming to the USA.

Anyhow, really glad to hear about your experience and maybe silence some of the haters. If you can have an enjoyable experience at his gig, that's all that matters!

Nice new design for the poster. But I see it's now "Electronica Tour". Where is the "World" part?

Greetings,

Yes it has been confirmed to me it is the desire of the french producers to leave off the "world" for those posters only.
It has nothing to do with the "world tour" that is still scheduled in 2017…

Article - The Guardian - 31 August 2016

Jean-Michel Jarre

Until this summer, the electronic pioneer hadn’t played live in the UK for five years: following a handful of festival appearances, he takes to the arenas in support of his two-volume album of collaborations, Electronica. His performances might be scaled down a little from the days when every live event he played seemed to attract record-breaking crowds, but judging by the videos of his appearances at Sónar and Bluedot earlier this summer, his show is still a pretty spectacular son-et-lumière event.
•UK tour starts at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on 4 October, runs till till 14 October.
