At the moment, I thought we would use this thread and I will rename after the official announcement when released and then open a new thread. The news section of the new album will be renamed accordingly. Just my thoughts and opinions but all suggestions are most welcome from all.

There are other sources of information apart from FB e.g. Twitter, Instagram etc.

Jean-Michel Jarre - Credits - EMIC: An Interstellar Time Capsule Film - Official Trailer
Jean-Michel Jarre: an album on the horizon after eight years of absence
Jean-Michel Jarre, announced to his fans the upcoming release of an album. And a first extract made with M83 is available.
The last album of Jean-Michel Jarre was the trippy Téo & Téa, released by Warner Music France in 2007. Since then, except for a few appearances at public events and compilations, the French composer had not released an album.
Only clue revealed its collaboration with M83 for at least one track of this next album, available in excerpt: "Glory" is the soundtrack of Emic, the next film under Google Play and Interstellar which will celebrate the life and experience humans on Earth. It looks very very good stuff.
There was a problem with the sound in the first link, fixed now :

Hey, nice stuff! With collaborative tracks it's always somewhat hard to figure out how much the artists have really contributed to it, and I haven't listened to M83 at all so I don't know what kind of a "signature sound" they'd have anyway.
But hey, nice for Jarre to get his music featured in a rather notable project (something related to Google Play instead of, like, The Crypto-Zoo-Jazz Artists of The 9th Arrondisement).
(And on a darker note, yes, my premonitions from years past were on the mark. Not that you should automatically like the new stuff from him or anything, but still, no surprises here)
(Oh and, Michael, very off-topic but if you ever want to feature my music in Radio Equinoxe, feel free to do so ;] )

good work ripping the song from the video! thanks a lot!
Horrible track imho. Very generic sounding pop record which hardly sounds electronic.

What Dr. Jones said But I'm sure loooots of Jarre FANS are gonna loooove it, and even cry some tears of joy over it... only because it has Jarre's name on it

I don't like it either. Too much seemingly random and out of rythm annoying drum sounds as if a kid without musical sense is just slamming them and these 'soccer anthem' male choirs are so lasts year's run of the mill pop tune. Well i do have high hopes for the track with Armin van Buuren. Two very talented melodic electronic composers together. And of course for the real Jarre-only solo studio album that's hopefully also coming soon. That's the one I'm most eagerly awaiting. Hopefully a successor to equinoxe or somethjng of similar style and quality as anything pre-teo&tea. I liked everything before including metamorphosis and geometry of love in which you still clearly hear Jarre melodies and sound/melodic landscape sculpting.

I may be going crazy but to me this almost sounds like a continuation of metamorphosis in my opinion, it shares the same DNA which is something I've just picked up on after listening to metamorphosis and this new work. Particularly Miss Moon & Give Me A Sign.
