I´ve now seen the dvd "Live in your livingroom" 3 times now and IMO it´s a pretty mixed pleasure..

I won´t go into Jarre´s live playing abillities here, but only mention the "package".

The picture quality & ditto sound is bloody sexellent!!! And nice to see all those analog synths back on stage!! But this whole performance feels a bit unreal & without feeling, just something that had to be done promotion-wise.. The only person on stage that seems to have some real spirit (even though he didn´t smile, actually no one really did) is Claude Samard! He seems to be taken this seriously and looks like he is enjoying this performance in his own way!! I really like this guy!! For the others, it just sort of looks like a job..

Anyway, this dvd is also full of wrong editing!! The worst I´ve ever seen!! Again something I simply don´t understand!!?? I noticed it during the first view. Look at Francis Rimbert the following places about: 6:01, 14:28, 14:43, 21:19, 26:05, 29:35, 30:13, 33:45, 39:02, 43:51, 47:45, 49:19, 49:39, 50:10, 50:37, 50:43, 51:40, 52:16 & look at Claude Samard leaving the stage at about 58:22... (Maybe you can find more yourself!) This is just a plain killer!!! Why does these things keep happening with Jarre´s concert releases????? I though the days with Mike Mansfield were over and done!! This also keeps ruin the whole performance IMO. It´s just so amateur´ish... Again...

All in all, a mixed pleasure... And oh bye the way, isn´t Rimbert supposed to be playing the deep bass all the way through during Oxy 2 (part 1)?? Take a look..

That JMJ and the others are more deep focused on the playing compared to his other concerts doesn't surprise me.
Yes I did notice the thing about the Oxygene 2 bass from the teaser videos, but I don't think there is anything suspicious about it, but I do wonder about why they chose to do it in that way. I'm still waiting for Monday so I can buy it. I hatet he waitingtime.

It's worth it Jakob, believe me

Concerning the surround mixes of the New Master Recording, they are quite good, but IMHO are more like the T&T mixes than the Aero mixes - quite a lot of echo and reverb, without the spacious surround panning.

Not bad, but could have been better

I think maybe that this mix was rushed to meet the release, and not given the care that the live section was given.

I'll give it a better listen tomorrow.

I got my 3D DVD on Friday from FNAC!

I didn't realize the 2D Version is also on the DVD and it's nice they gave two 3D glasses so you can watch it with a friend.

I'm so happy OPENDISC works on my MAC--I was worried it was a PC only thing.

So my big question a (as I'm too lazy to go through the 77 pages of this thread) is what is the difference between the 2D Version and the stand-alone CD Version?

The CD given in the 3 releases is the very same

Francis Rimbert reminds my of the French actor Dominique Pinon from Delicatessen and La Cite Des Enfants Perdus. They could be brothers.....

But one's a short arse and the others a actor


Anyway, I'm looking forward to (hopefully) receiving my pre-ordered 3D copy on Monday morning. If Amazon keep to their time.

Yes! He also sounds the same!

Argh! I took the chance and went into my local musicstore, and there it was... the DVD It is just teasing me that I don't know for how long time they have had it, otherwise I would have waited untill monday

got 3d version in Ireland yesterday. Fantastic is all I can say. Jarre is back.

I gonna have to buy the 2D DVD on top of the 3D version just because of the 5.1/dts mix of the new Oxygene master rec.
I do that later on if they happens to appear in a shop somewhere...
(At the time when JIC just had its release I saw it at ICA Maxi of all places...)

It sux a bit that all versions containing the same CD's...It would actually have been cheaper to sale the DVD's separately.

I've just turned on my radio to hear Dermot O'Leary closing off his Radio 2 Saturday show. He said '... and thanks to Jean Michel Jarre'. I think he was on but I missed it. did anyone else catch it? !
