The longest the lens is, the less you can see if you are close, that's why I'll take 18-55mm, 50mm and 50-210mm lenses to make some tests ;)

Thanks a lot for the infos, photos and MP3, dear !

You need to figure out a better way to show those pics, I just adblocked all the pics from your site because of the unnecessarily big RAM usage due to those :P

And security is non-existent. Everybody can smuggle in a photo camera, recorder, etc. At the beginning of the show, they only say taking photographs is prohibited. But it's in French, so I just continued taking photos.

On the outside, there's lots of police though. Sarkozy works close to the theatre and Gaddafi is in town, camping in a tent.

Dr_Jones wrote:(plus, I am too lazy to resize them)
Hi Dr_Jones,

I strongly suggest you to take at least a little time to resize your pictures to web standards. Nobody is waiting for 34 pictures of 1.4 MB each. It's a waste of bandwidth (46MB to be precize), a waste of RAM memory (loading this thread bloated my browser from 78MB to 770MB !!!!) and a waste of time (12 minutes of downloading at 64KB/s).

In order to help you, I just did a little search on google for an easy to use piece of free software to easily resize your pictures, assuming you use Windows, and I found the following:

Picture Resizer 2.0
With this little utility, you can drag and drop your pictures onto the software and have it resize them automatically (adding a suffix to your files to distinguish them from the originals).

The funny thing with this software is that you can just rename the application to change the settings with which it resizes. By default the program is called PhotoResize400.exe. When you drag and drop pictures on to this application (on your desktop for example), your pictures are resized to a maximum width or height of 400 pixels. I would suggest you rename the program to PhotoResize800H.exe. The 800 will cause pictures to be resized to 800 pixels maximum, and the H will ensure that pictures are saved with low compression so that they still look good. The resized pictures will have a much more web-friendly size of roughly 80 to 100KB. There are a number of other ways in which you can change the way the program resizes. They are all documented on the application's website. For example you can add a 'I' to overwrite the originals and not add the -800 suffix (PhotoResize800HI.exe).

So... my suggestion to you is the following:
  1. Download this piece of software at http://www.rw-designer.com/picture-resize and put it on your desktop.
  2. Rename this file from PhotoResize400.exe to PhotoResize800H.exe
  3. Select your pictures in Windows explorer and drag them towards the Picture Resize application icon on your desktop.
  4. Your pictures will be resized and renamed to xxxx-800.jpg, where xxxx is the original filename. They will be placed in the same folder as the originals, where your originals will still be present.
  5. Upload these new pictures to your webspace and publish these instead of the original 1.5MB files.
Actions 3 and 4 take literally only a few seconds, so don't tell me you're still too lazy...

Greetings,
Tijl Kindt
