Sounds like a studio version of the CiC album version, thus pretty good. And MF2 wasn't even on the list of the "freshly retouched tracks" for this compilation. Very nce surprise. 8)

Compared to the 1982 version
- it's shorter (verse repetitions are missing and parts of the chorus, but they were traded for the full solo, so... who cares)
- it has an additional crash cymbal here and there
- one of the bass leads is missing (during the solo part)
- there seems to be an additional "pluck" sequence, very quiet and similar to the MF2 single version

So great to finally have a studio version of the full solo from 1982.

And yeah, it's odd that it was not on that "freshly retouched" list. That gives us two options, either

1. the list was just missing this one track (MF2) and is otherwise complete

or

2. the list was just a summary of tracks that had their length altered compared to the album version (note that this new MF2 length is more or less the same as the 1981 MF album version) and there are lots of other gems on that compilation

This'd be cool (even though SoC was just the same ol' 1982 version), considering that the reported length of Zoolookologie on this album is 3:42 (or 3:43) which just happens to be (just about) the length of its Coachella version.

... and sadly, the length of the 1984 (85?) remix version, so I guess the first scenario might be more likely after all. ;)

Oeh, that Magnetic Fields 2 version! This makes me very happy! Curious if some of the other tracks are also a different mix than we thought.

Remastering is still garbage, but at least not nearly as bass heavy as the 2011 remasters. So that's some good news regarding the sound quality. Doubting if I should take the chance with the vinyl release for better audio levels or not.

No problem with the availability in Germany - maybe it's due to Sony Music operates from Gütersloh in Germany (Bertelsmann Music Group / Sony BMG).

Yes, that part in the preview was definitely not played on tour. Herbalizer also seems a bit modernized.

Thanks for the links, I'll finally pre-order this one (the cheapest 2CD jewelcase edition).

I'm not sure, but I think that Last Rendez-Vous has a new saxophone part in it. Or it's a different mix of the AERO version.

What's actually the difference between the normal edition and the special edition? They're both two disc and seem to feature the exact same content. So surely I'm missing some info.

Those Electronica remixes of the older tracks are quite nice. I think only Oxygene 8 was played in Amsterdam two years ago, so it's nice to hear the others also in good quality.
