Robi, I understand how you feel. Wish the figures could be better. But you must try not think with numbers but your heart, imho. I feel like that today. Tomorrow may be another matter.

There's still time for seats to be sold. It's surprising just how many people will wait until the last minute. Just be thankful they haven't cancelled it all together. I booked tickets back in January for a concert in May, in March they cancelled it due to lack of ticket sales; that's a whole two months before the concert. I know we're in a reccession and people aren't going to go spending money on tickets not knowing whether they're going to have a job in two months time but to cancel so early was stupid..

Sorry to put a downer on the subject but Im thinking realistically, but, the world is currently gripped by a recession. Selling tickets and putting bums on seats is the last thing on anyones mind. With millions of people around the world losing their jobs, lively hood, homes and their way of living, should we really be worrying about seats being unsold. JMJ and AP could promote it until they are blue in the face, it probably would not make a bit of differance to anyones personal budget. Im just happy to see that JMJ has sold some tickets during these very hard times.

In the news today, it has been reported how many other top named music celebs are losing millions. It not only effects the fans who may or may not have the funds to buy such "luxery" items, which you could class these as, but it also effects the artist. Personally, I think JMJ has fallen on wrong and hard times for a world tour. If the decline continues like this, there may not be a world tour if seats aren't sold, venues will be cancelled.

I see, but still so many bands and artists can produce sold-out concerts, for example Depeche Mode.
I do know they are way more popular than JM and they have new album, but still a "marketing-machine" can work properly for them, could work better for JMJ.

But what ever works for one will not work for another. DM had a large break before coming back to form. Thats what is selling DM. JMJ had his comeback break last year with the Oxy shows. But last year was the start of the decline in the recession, this year were in the midst of it, and next year will be a lot worse. As fans, we can only hope that venues are not cancelled. It can happen. But if seats are not sold, then those who own the venue will not justify the hire of the venue if there is to be a substantial loss.

Well it's always a good thing to pull out a new release before a big tour. New releases starts a hype, which makes people buy concert tickets more easily. Otherwise you need an immortal public star status like Michael Jackson. He can do everything to spoil himself and his person, and concerts get sold out immidiately. Oxygene Tour was also qucikly sold out here, which lead to extra concerts.

Sadly thats something we have not had from Jarre

I know it's not exactly the same thing as these lavish concerts, but for 7 years I have been organising and attending as a trader memorabilia shows up and down the UK. This year I have seen some 70% of shows suspended, cancelled or reduced in size due to lack of interest. One of the big shows was in Glasgow, but that has been cancelled due to the lack of tables sold. The people who own the venue (same people who own the famous NEC in Birmingham) could not justify the hire of the hall. They would loose less money if it were closed than if it were open. Its the sign of the times.

Pleeeeeeeeese do not say the word cancel here.

Its not just down to ticket sales... it's down to a number of factors, such as:

is the venue easy to get to?
is public transport available?
weather
publicity (I dunno why people can't create their own adverts... there's a great skills base out there going untapped!!!)

Also, you have to consider the fact that not all websites have the most up-to-date information on seats because a lot of seats will have been reserved and some venues class them as 'unsold' because a reservation doesn't necessarily mean that someone will buy a ticket for a particular seat... and as is typical sometimes, a lot more generally get sold within the last week anyway.

Another factor is 'the weather' - if it's nice weather and if there's a public holiday coming up, it might very well prove awkward to put 'bums on seats' - it's why we as fans should help out and promote the tour in their area as much as possible... and provide as much detailed information as possible - think of those who are visiting your town for the first time ever - you'd be helping absolutely *everyone* in some small way...

Either way, if nothing else, don't let ticket sales put you off going... if you've paid, you might as well go.. take a friend or three along - heck, they might enjoy it!

You can't base a show on ticket sales alone before the first note has been played.

And even if a venue isn't 'sold out' - make a goddamned noise like it WAS!!

In all honesty I couldn't give a fook if the venues are full or not,so long as he turns up for the gig and I have a ticket,and its an enjoyable gig,thats all that matters.we can all see he's popular with his album sales and the record breaking Attendances from past Biggies,does it matter if a small venues fails to hit full house status.certainly is not the first time a gig of his has been partially empty,Wembley EIC barely made 50,000 ticket sales yet the stadium holds 100,000 capacity of which about 70,000 of that would have been allocated for Jarre(due to stage)and thats without the amount of bodies the Pitch area would hold,the Venue was pretty bare,and the BSH was partially full,who cares about those minor issues as long as your there in person who cares!

Thats for to Jarre's promoters to worry about if they can't put arses on seats.

I would only worry if I was the only one turning up to the concerts I am going to. Then again, maybe not.

I did hear a rumour that Poland is sold out. Well, there was not much publicity there. I rest my case.

According to the Dutch ticket site, there are about 200 tickets left for sale for the concert in Amsterdam, so that is on its way to be sold out I assume

Thats correct.
I can say mates that I'm looking forward to this concert in Debrecen, only the above mentionned things made me a bit disappointed, but musically, visually, its gonna be a great evening! A must be concert to see! I DO hope!
