Do you mean that CHAKWA sounds as an already existing midi file? An actual midi version of Souvenir of China? Can you send it to me then, pls? Or better put it here for us all to feel the differense, pls – midi has a tiny size to browse.
By the way, I had to make this version not only with a mouse, but a midiboard als.

Oxygene 4 [6 mb]

I'll fix some drum bugs when I'll fix my Minipops :)

Enjoy and work hard

Some gear that I've used: Eminent 310 U, Arp 2600, Minipops 7, Smallstone, Electric Mistress
I’ve browsed your Oxygen-4. The sound’s very soft, good quality – it’s a very good copy! But a copy. I’ve put a question about the image development or a new interpretation. About the new version that makes consider it a different piece. The new grows from the old.

I don't know what You're talking about?

Anyway - I like to make covers without any addons etc ;)

icefire wrote:It seems strange that Jean Michael takes expensive and complicated musical mega-devices to make his masterpieces, while an ordinary guy from Russia who isn not a musician takes a 1$ - music card Ultra Sound Gravis (PCI SLOT! Computer IBM PC/IT 286!) and gives an alternative to the Souvenir of China.
Here is a Demo version http://www.realmusic.ru/songs/92023/
Here is the whole version http://www.kiberstar.ru/POLIGLOT/uzls/CHAKWA.mp3
How do you think – can this guy hope to get the author’s right for his version, or it’s just a simple re-make?
It's not just the hardware that counts but it's the musical idea as well! I'd like you to come up with new music like SOC.

Don't expect ppl here to like simple GM midifile dumps.

As for "can this guy hope to get the author's right for this version", it depends on what your local law is. Where I live (.nl) you have to pay the full rights and get permission of the original artist if you want to put it on a cd and sell it since it's clearly a cover of an existing work.
