The Future Sound of London used Tokyo Kid as inspiration for their track Ameoba.
TK has one of the best drum programming of any EM tack: including Aphex Twin's stuff.
Continually in flux.

Revolutions is I think Sylvian Durand's favourite album.

Why do you think so? There's barely piano parts in there, except for the London Kid arpeggios

This album shows he is capable of some proper rhythm programming when he puts his mind to it....Overall its a great Album

JMJ is capable of a fair amount musically, including diverse musical styles,
if he puts his mind to it.
He has a natural gift for it.

I remember reading it somwehre, where SDurand said Revolutions was his favourite album.
Also FSOL making a satement about TKid.

I do think this album sounds a bit 'flat'. The orchestral suite at the beginning could've sound way more powerful with a lot more fx, which counts for all tracks on the album, imo.

I remember thinking the same when it came out. And did so for a long while.
Nowadays, I just notice the composition.
Which overall is superb.

Probably the one Album where Jarre has put more effort into his Drum Programming,every other albums seems to be based around the same loops with no real fills.

All the album has by far the best and most futuristic percussion anywhere.
To bad JMJ gave up on it after a successfull revisit (though short) with Calypso 2 intro.

If it fits the tracks.
Generally I have found JMJ to be fairly spot on with how the drums parts fit the tracks.

I have noticed that the tracks in Revolutions nearly always make me imagine some scenarios along with the music.

Industrial Revolution Overture is like a train moving through some factories in 1850's or so on, moving for the next target.

In Industrial Rev. 1 the train has reached some target, and some industrial spy moves around the factories snooping around, and then he is noted by the authorities and they chase him, until in the end he catches another train again, but it swerves from its rails to some pit.

Industrial Revolution 2, there's has been an accident in the factory and it has started raining like mad and there's a lot of smoke and people running. And along the train wreck, the industrial spy starts to wake up.

In Industrial Rev. 3 he notes that it isn't raining anymore, and he seems to be able to walk around the wreck. He is now heading for the factory back, and by the end of the song when he reaches it, he actually starts to wake up and then he notes he has just been hanged

London Kid... surprisingly, reminds me of Jarre and Hank Marvin playing it on Docklands, but in my vision the angles are totally different, most of the stage is covered in dark and the city is not visible, and there's only Jarre and Marvin playing London Kid like mad.

Revolutions... depending on the version, I seem to think of either the Docklands or La Defense performance :/

Tokyo Kid has awesome mood, like some undercover agent moving in downtown Tokyo during night time, doing stuff and asking questions and so on.

Computer Weekend, a freaking white cat walks by some wall and starts mourning, getting other cats to join him and then they all mourn. Woah.

September... the Docklands performance :p

The Emigrant, however, reminds me of nuclear bombing and people running away from the blast. Everything is also in slow motion..


Okay, I don't think all of this every time, but these were the ones today :p
