You can't buy them new anymore, MFSL are out of business. I bought mine at eBay.

Not only the CD itself does look nice, the additional artwork and even the flip-box are one of it's kind!
Last but certainly not least, the sound is awesome! Well, that's my personal feeling about it anyway.

I bought both CD's back in the days for approx. 40 guilders (€18,15) each. Sealed and all!

eBay and co. don't have that much to offer at this moment and I'm certainly looking for these 2 vinyls.

P.S. I still have a perfectly working turntable (Sony PS-X3 with Denon DL-110 element) and most certainly will use it when playing the MFSL vinyls!

To be really honest, I have a copy of Oxygene MFSL "golden disc" and I just can't hear that big difference compared to any other (re)mastered Oxygene CD's. Maybe my 750€ DVD player or 1000 € speakers are just not expensive enough to pick it up. But at least it looks nice with that golden surface and all...it's the best protection for a CD disc.
I'm quite sure I would experience exactly the same sound result if I had the Equinoxe MFSL CD and the factory seal would not stay on for many seconds.

(ot:HDCD would've sound even better in my case.ot)

Yeah, I don't have audionerd ears either but still having MFSL copies is nice

Yep, that I know..and the vinyls where also (same as the CD's) published in a limited series.

And for the record, MSFL is back in business since 2001 (Music Direct has taken over all assets) and the website is: www.mofi.com

Ebay should be place for me either I guess..

I think I will experience exactly the same result if I had the Equinoxe MFSL CD, but if I had it factory sealed it would not stay on for many seconds.

Well, that's just a personal feeling of what I'd experienced.
I've listened to the MFSL releases and 'remastered' versions at once via a A/B switch and listened to them with a good headphone (Sennheiser HD-515).
My finding is that the MFSL releases are 'warmer' but on some places less sharp then the remastered versions.
The only drawback is the frequency range of a CD itself and that's the reason why I also want the original MFSL vinyl's...just to hear the albums like they where ment to be heared.

Now the waiting is for all albums in SA-CD, then I'm completely satisfied!

My neighbor's dog told me they were much better...but personally I can't tell shit and I own all of them on both CD AND vinyl!

You can easily see if it was factory sealed. The vinyl itself should be in shrinkwrap too. And the factory seal is pretty thick plastic.

Also, how does one know the item still got it's J-card?

Like, is J-card the thing that reads "ULTRADISC II" on it or is it like a standard booklet inside the case or what?

Yes, it's the "obi" strip for the MFSL just like the wrap-around obi strip on Japanese releases--so it should be clearly visible on the CD.
