I didn't attend the 2010 concerts as I felt that they were the end of JmJ musically, summing up his albums for one final hurrah, reduced to playing small indoor arenas.

I'm so glad I was totally wrong.

29th September 1993 - Europe In Concert @ Santiago de Compostella, Spain. I can't seem to find any photos of this. Image search just turns up the 2010 JMJ Santiago de Compostella show. Does anybody have any?

Or was this a scheduled concert that ultimately did not go ahead?

There are some photos in the Europe in Concert book. But I agree, anything related to this concert is quite scarce.

Thanks! I have that book, so I'll go and take a look again. Such an amazing setting I can't beliece it didn't get more coverage. The Seville Expo site was dramatic but there was such a gap between audience and stage, with a lake in between. Created an odd somewhat detached atmosphere but the long distance photos were great, with the reflections.

I see now that the venue for EIC 1993 was the large open space at Mote Do Gozo, to the east and outside the city centre, while the setting for the 2010 JMJ show was the landmark cathedral building. I thought both events used the catherdral as the backdrop - in the same way historic buildings like Versaille and Mont St Michel were used for EIC - but looking on Google maps, there simply isnt the space in the heart of the city for comething as large as the EIC setup.
