I'm glad that I'm not the only one that started noticing all of the EiC posts that Jean-Michel has been posting on his social media accounts. I hope that it is something more than nostalgia. If my dreams come true then it'll either be a remastered release of a concert film, a new tour announcement or a Chronologie sequel that utilises his recent advancements in 3d sound.
However it is most likely nostalgia or something really small. I'm certainly not getting any hopes up whatsoever and I think that approach would be best for everyone

Funny thing is: in a recent article in Zeit Magazine the first thing he states is that nostalgia is a fallacy:

I'm pretty sure it's just a throwback to that grandiose tour 30 years ago.

I know the 'Cities In Concerts' are considered the highlights of his live shows, especially Houston, Docklands and La Defense, but I actually think Europe In Concert was the highest high point of his live career. I can't ever see it being topped.
There was something magical about this touring circus, the concept of the travelling funfair arriving at interesting and unconventional locations. Too many stadiums although I know they make logistics easier. A proper band, with a real drummer and real bass, makes a massive difference to the live sound, although the synths were always the stars of the show. It was like everything he'd learned up to that point - musically, about performance and presentation, and about his 'brand' and 'identity' as an artist - all came togther in spectacular fashion that summer.
Everything before EIC was experimental and leading towards it. Everything afterwards, could never compete.

Yeah, I kinda agree. It was also the year that U2 had that grand ZooTV tour, 1993 was a fantastic year for concerts.
It was bold to play his new album (almost) entirely during this tour and most of the versions played there are some of my favourite arrangements (Oxygene 4).
Mont Saint Michel was magical. I still have fond memories of that night, one of the best concerts I've been to. As for JMJ concerts that impacted me emotionally on an equal level, the 2007/2008 concerts hit that spot, also because its intimate setting.

Even though it makes sense why it was done, I can't forgive the EIC concerts for shortening Equinoxe 4
