On our territory, creation and innovation advance together, with AI offering art new means of expression! Gong Li, Agnès Jaoui, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Claude Lelouch are the faces and voices of this 2nd edition. Thank you to them for their participation in this event.

IN PICTURES - They are still in love, and do not miss an opportunity to show it. On April 21, French musician Jean-Michel Jarre and his partner, the sublime Gong Li, went to the Théâtre Claude Debussy in Cannes, on the occasion of the World Artificial Intelligence Film Festival.

He's properly leaning in on AI, isn't he? I know this had been a thing of his for a while now, but has he ever expressed any serious reservations about the tech? The copyright infringements, the data scraping, the energy consumption, the need for massive amounts of water, the rapid disruption to employment patterns, on how fabricated images and 'facts' now pollute most search results. There's a lot to be concerned about.

I can't remember if he's addressed the environmental aspects before, but it's still quite a change from saying something to the effect of "I was actually one of the first environmentally conscious artists in 1976, look at the Oxygene skull" in 2007 to saying nothing today.

Granted, the Chinese seem to be a lot resource friendly with their AI techniques, but after so many years of being the head of CISAC and talking about copyrights, intellectual theft and all, generative AI is only stealing from artists.
