It's cheesy, but I think he wanted something like that on the album

MF must be one of his top 10 albums.

When I heard MF5 for the first time I thought that it was an imitation of Klaus Wunderlich.

MF5 made me first think of lousy Swedish Dance-bands lik Vikingarna but that is a whole other thing. Now I actually like it!

I'm not sure what the source was, a magazine or just anoter fan on a mailing list or in the forum.

But I've read somewhere, that Jarre wanted with MF5 a song on that album, that showed the difference between of what he does and of the people's perception, that electronic music is just pressing a few knobs on a keyboard with automated drums and chords and playing a simple, cheesy melody.
In this persecptive, the song works well.



And yes, as "intended kitsch", he did play a good joke on us with that song.
