DVD-A, yes, HDCD, no. I have never heard of HDCDs. I just think they used some expensive equipment for recording and called that high defintion to make it look smart

Absolutely no power in it. But I have to say I like the rest of RV2!

There are some fantastic tunes on that album...
The Emigrant, Chronologie 1, 2, 3 are my favourites. The intro of Chronologie 1 would be fabulous for a movie! Many tracks would be good in movies actually.
Acropolis sounds a bit like an Ennio Morricone orchestral track. Really nice! I haven't heard the original version.
Some tracks are quite ridiculous though... "Rendez-Vous 4" sounds like a Mike Post TV theme (the guy who composed music for "McGyver", "the A-Team" and things like that). I always hated that track anyway.
"The Last Rumba" sounds like something you would hear in old-fashioned chinese restaurants.
I think those are the worst 2 tracks.

Finally watched the DVD of the Symphonic Jarre ...great stuff!
The images made me realize that the music would have been the perfect accompaniment to Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" series back in the day!

Put 'em into the cd player again, and I have to say that I like it more than I thought
. Some nice original arrangements and fills. Pretty neat for a cover-cd

I don't think it was as awesome as it could have been (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight soundtracks by Hans Zimmer have a very slight synth twist in them which nevertheless sounds extremely awesome), but it's still a nice album to have.
... which I don't because I haven't found it for under 10 euros yet

it is a great CD, but as said not as good as it could be. It must have been done much more better.
still I enjoy it from time to time.
