The CD cover is inverted , like Electronica 1 to link it with the Electronica 2 and make a double album , so ...
Oxymore would be just the first part of one bigger project ? Perhaps an Oxymore 2 ???

Doubt it. I have a feeling his quietly retiring and this might be his last album ever.

Sorry, it's maybe only me, but how do you mean "inverted"?
Jote, I fairly doubt he would ever retire big time.

The CD opens from the left, and the spine is on the right.

I don't know if he will, but the guy is 74. He sold his back catalogue for millions. A few weeks ago Genesis sold their back catalogue for 300 million euro for three persons (I don't know if Peter Gabriel gets something. This to give an indication what JMJ could have gotten. In other words: he doesn't need to do this anymore.
But I always thought Metamorphosis was his retirement album and everything after that is bonus.
And there's plenty of artists who still record and do their stuff just because they love it. Sparks, a band I really like, features 80 year old keyboardist Ron and his younger brother Russell who still has an amazing voice. They recently released some of their finest work as a rock opera/movie called Annette. I saw an 80 year old Leonard Cohen dance on stage. So if JMJ still loves to do it, he probably will release new stuff. My guess is that he will probably say when he's going to stop.

Is that your data, i.e. do you have your copy already? If so, can you confirm the fadeouts?

Not really surprised, but mostly just disappointed... Well, time for that vinyl rip!
Edit: so how does one go about obtaining that Dolby Atmos mix? Is it only for streaming, because I can't quite find a download for it (yet?).

Just finished my first listen of the new record. I hate to say it, but I'm really underwhelmed. It's not bad per se however there is nothing memorable about the record at all. I frequently found myself thinking "this is a good tech demo/experiment but as an album of music it isn't doing much for me". Maybe I'm getting old and crusty but I've literally just finished the record and cannot for the life of me recall anything memorable, exciting or interesting whatsoever. Just track after track of flashy sound design, nothing more. I'll give it a few more listens through but as it stands I'm REALLY underwhelmed and not impressed. For me it's close to the bottom of my rankings of JMJ studio albums. It just doesn't work in my opinion.
I'm sure others on here will love it and I honestly hope you do, but this record isn't for me (based off a first listen through). I can't believe I'm saying this but if there is a tour I think I'll be giving it a miss. 3/10.

No, it's on some file sharing stuff. Amazon had send some copies out already so people got the album a day earlier. I will confirm if it's the real deal today.
And yes, there are fadeouts...

I remember the Welcome to the other side downloads weren't available immediately either. It worked a day later though...
