It's a regular 1080p bluray.
I got the box set 5 minutes after I posted my last post here :-)

Skimming through the book, I noticed some familiair faces, including Richard. I see I'm credited in the book, which is cool! Apparently they've used one of my pictures, I don't know which one though :-D

In the 90s I said: "why don't they release this-and-this radio broadcast as a live album?" and now it happens. So I'm partly to blame for this. Sorry.
Yes, but - Jarre uses similar argument AGAINST releasing older concerts, yet he releases this one.

(Almost) all tracks sourced from a lossy :!: encode (according to spectrum) as we know since the Stardust "single".

What about the video differences in quality or different angles and similar?

I'm going to do a side-by-side comparison this weekend.

So far I've only listened to Azimuth on Youtube Music. The quality is okay for me since I have a rather poor sense of hearing, but the additional effects added to the track annoy me. During this year's tour JMJ used them too often so it seems he has become dependent on them. :D

I just hope they did the fireworks in The Opening correctly. If not, this year was a waste.

Replying to myself here! Those selfie pics were used after all - brilliant! 8) I am in the book, alongside my daughter Natasha ❤ There are two other pics of from me included. The pics of the newspapers the day after, one with a beer and the other with a coffee ... they're mine! :D

About the stream, just before, didn't they notice the zipper of his cardigan (or tracktop) went apart? :D Looked funny.

And that's an Issey Miyake too, not cheap. He should get a refund! Actually, looking back at the video, it's a two way zip, just not pulled down properly.

Nice to see he still has his Sony MDR-7506 headphones in the studio.

Got my box today. Probably not going to actually "use" it anytime soon - no CD player ATM, no Blu-Ray player, no record player - so I hope someone rips the "Bridge to the future" track. I also just realized it might be a while until I see how the video turned out (I'll also probably have to wait for a rip...)

The photos look spectacular, so I'll definitely be using this book to show people "what was it like".

Minor nitpicks (besides the major nitpick, ie. sound quality) - in the booklet the title of "The Architect" is printed with smaller font; in the "people who sent their pictures" credits some people are listed twice (like "Kamil Ratajsky, Kamil Ratajsky") - probably because they used two pictures that he sent in (Richard is also listed twice, but since it's "Richard Eastham" and "Richard & Natasha" it's excusable ;)) For a €100 product there should be better quality control, but I guess this is the world we live in.

I've done some comparison with the TV broadcast (I've used the RTL stream for now, but all of the TV broadcasts are mostly the same) and the bluray.

The edit is not very different, with the the most obvious change that the speeches have been cut. Oh well.
The editing is mostly made for better/smoother transitions between shots and a rare different shot here and there.

Opening titles have been slightly altered:
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h31m17s982.png
And this is the difference between the countdown on the live broadcast and the bluray:

Livestream:

BR:
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h32m18s109.png
Some examples. At the opening, audience shot has been replace by two shots, one of the bridge and one of the stage:
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h38m45s043.png
vs.
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h38m41s510.png
-----------
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h43m42s237.png
vs
vlcsnap-2025-09-06-15h43m46s560.png
And so on. So it's not very different, you probably wouldn't notice if you don't know every detail of the broadcast.

So, in conclusion: errors during the live editing have been smoothed out and the occasional shot replaced by another one for a better viewing experience.
