Maybe it's also his most simple part to play, as he only has to play the bell melody. Or maybe because they can see the end of a performance that takes a lot of focus to get it right.
Maybe. :) They are happy everything went right during the concert.
It is a nice music, both to play and listen to.
And watch. :tv2:

Can't believe it's almost been a year since these sets were released. Doesn't time fly.

A review:

Jean Michel Jarre breathes new life into the electronic music scene with “Oxygene.” This entirely instrumental release is split into six parts for practical reasons, but it plays like a single 40-minute journey through time and space. At times soaring through clouds of synthesized beeps and blasts, at others a haunting visitation by a spectral nightmare, “Oxygene” dithers with reckless abandon through different emotions.

“Part I” meanders with rhythmic undulations, laced with seductive theremin and arranged with an almost organic aesthetic in mind. A more prominent hook leads the way in “Part II” with wispy keyboard melodies.

While the songs are linked through sonic transitions, each part contains various disparate vignettes of sound. From part one to six, the song has changed almost entirely in sound, but maintains a familiar quality- like a person aging, the outward appearance changes but the personality remains largely the same.

If you’re looking for an escape, dim the lights, exhale your stress and inhale the cool atmosphere of “Oxygene,” a breath of fresh air designed to awaken the senses and help take you to a peaceful inner sanctuary.

I saw the 3D edition for 19.90 euros at a record shop in Helsinki today... in apparently resealed condition, but that's still a pretty fair price (didn't it go for 100 e at some point on eBay :P).

I have it hear for a couple of weeks, and I really enjoy listening to the DVD, I only hate that Jarre went with the cheap Anaglyph glasses... I want this released on 3D Blu-ray :punch:

The fact it was recorded natively in 3D, it should be easy to convert it to the present HD 3D format. The sooner the better - I love Oxygene LIYLR.

The process of making a 3D Blu-ray disc is alot harder then making it a cheap anaglyph 3D DVD, but I have to say that I'm actually amazed that he hasn't decided to release it on that format yet... Sure it's still very very young, but the format can use all (and I meen ALL) the support it can get, and 3D Concerts really would be able to give it a slight push if all other 3D concerts were being released on the format... Well all except Hannah Montana and other Disney Crap

That's not quite what I meant :D

The fact that LIYLR was recorded natively in 3D makes it easier to transfer to 3D Blu-Ray, rather than having to modify a 2D recording to 3D. The anaglyph elements were only added to give a 3D image with the appropriate red / blue glasses.

Of course the term 'easy' is relative :D
