The Dolby Atmos mix is streaming only (Apple Music / Amazon Music). No download is planned (at least for now).

Well what a load of utter sh*t this album is.

I listened to all the tracks on Youtube.

I don't care about binaural versions or any esoteric nonsense about how the mix sounds, I just want the music to be good.

This sounds like a bag of spanners in a washing machine.

If Jarre is going to keep making non-music like this and Amazonia then he should just retire.

Remember when he use to make beautiful music that stirred emotions?
Not this shocking random collection of noises.

This album will probably be very divisive. I read very positive reactions on this forum after the January concerts when he played the album first.

I'm not a fan of the album myself, but I understand what he's trying to do here. It's a tribute to Pierre Henry and if you know Henry's music, this album is probably too melodic :-D

Amazonia worked very well as background noise, like an ASMR experience, but this is no background music either.

I have no idea what the fellows music sounds like, so I'm going in as someone who has no idea other than what kind of a tribute this is. CD should arrive today and will listen to it once I get home from work.

Yeah I do, I believe the last one release... Only four years ago...

Looks like the Atmos versions are not on Apple Music yet. I see Taylor Swift's new album has been released today in Atmos too, there's two different verions on there and you can see a line which says it's spatial audio if you click on one of them. Oxymore has only one entry and that one has no such line.
Amazon is worse. It doesn't really say which version which is (tested with Taylor Swift again).

Or does it automatically play atmos if it's something you do in your settings?

"this is not really easy listening, but it definitely is an intriguing record. Jarre keeps on renewing himself and that's good."

Definitely gonna need further re-listenings for more thoughts, but I do prefer this one to Amazonia (does that even really count?) and Oxygene 3. Some elements of the album remind me of Aero and Geometry of Love as well.

I like how the atmospheric pads in the background of Crystal Garden sound similar to the menu music to Mass Effect 1. ;) Also, I think the HSBC ambient track has been reused quite a bit in that one (not the melodies themselves).

Agora and Synthy Sisters are the weakest tracks, IMO. A shame about the fade-outs, too

Part 2 of the Jean-Michel Jarre day on FranceRadio:

560x315_gettyimages-1224194444.jpg
In this episode of Musicopolis, Anne-Charlotte Rémond looks back at "Oxygène", a revolutionary album by Jean-Michel Jarre!
"Oxygène", a worldwide success

"The advantage of electronic music is that you are self-sufficient, a luthier, a composer, a musician, a producer, an engineer of your own sound. A cook in his own kitchen. Decade after decade, musicians and DJs at their turntables, like chefs in front of their ovens, continue this tradition, stirring, kneading, mixing sounds, wave forms, textures. There is no recipe book, everything has to be invented, everything has to be tinkered with. Jean-Michel Jarre's album Oxygène, which has sold around 18 million copies worldwide, is one of the biggest successes in the French discography. Indeed, Oxygène remains one of the best-selling electronic music albums of all time. Jean-Michel Jarre, a true pioneer in his field, has largely contributed to the revolution of electronic music. The composer became a true craftsman, and conceived music not in terms of notes but in terms of sounds. A look back at Jean-Michel Jarre's life and the album Oxygène!

The LP just arrived. Very nice booklet, I love the artwork. When I have the CD, I will make some scans to give an impression (or maybe it'll be on Discogs soon).

Tracks 1-10 are credited to JMJ and Pierre Henry, track 11 is JMJ only. JMJ is assisted by Marco Grenier on this album and it's produced by Joachim Garraud. No list of synths used.

The downloads only have the binaural tracks (in WAV format). I did a quick convert to flac and here's the dynamic range:
