Thank you Elf - very informative. That's the best news I've heard all year :D It will be very interesting to see who remasters the albums this time ...

Why ? Was there doubts about a December release date ?

A new (and possibly good or even potentially great) remastering might be absolutely great news here. Really looking forward to it!

Thank you Elf! That's exactly what we wanted to read. :peacemaan: 8)

Suddenly the Ultimate vinyl deluxe box feels a lot "less expensive" and I'm really looking forward to this year's christmas. :D

And if that's not possible, could you at least try to find out which parts of the mp3 are JMJ pieces (apart from Oxygene 19 and These Creatures)?

My hypothesis is that he is very negative about the music industry… seing it from the inner view every single day at the CISAC…
The new album could carry this kind of very dark mood…

For the existing parts, it wouldn't be the first time. Remember Musique pour Supermarché or even the Swatch Event, Jarre is always processing new music, trying it in many ways, and then, after acceptance and refinement, it end up often in a album.

Thank you very much Elf, I was totally displeased by the remastered versions, I couldn't get ho Jarre could have accepted that.

Can't wait to hear this new album, really, I mean it's like after Oxygène 7-13, Jarre tried many things. Some I like as GOL, Printemps de Bourges even if it is made of some existing parts (1st part, aka "Alive in Bourges", is my favorite), I enjoyed the variations on Oxygène 3D, and Electronica 1 & 2 are very interesting in many ways, but nothing like a good old studio album.

As the links for previews were not working (mp3 files couldn't be found), there is something on Youtube. Oxygène 17 is much nicer on the album, as of course a concert version is always a bit louder and differ from the original :

of courses, theses are short extracts not representatives of a whole track (we can judge that with Oxygène 17, the extract miss some of the best parts)

Let's also point out the tried covers of Oxygène 17, they are not perfect but maybe one of the best I found.

Anyway... let's start the countdown... can't wait... 8)

Maybe the fact that all the interesting collaborations work with Electronica 1 & 2 is now done, complete finished and in the past made him a bit low? Now sitting by himself again in a large studio...
speculatively speaking. Heidie who...Heidi Klum?

Well the music industry is pretty Satanic, which normal person wouldn't be?

Didn't Jarre appear in one of those "these are how the remasters were made" videos for the 2014-15 releases?

(And for that matter, the 2007 remaster was quite loud.)

Well, anyway, here's hoping that all parts of the Oxygene 3 release have been mastered properly as he said... especially Oxygene 7-13. ;)

@Pat Gleeson: It's been barely a month since the album was announced, so unless they've really been planning it for a long time, I'm not entirely sure how they're gonna pull off such a quick release. Judging by Elf's post, it hasn't been planned for more than 3-4 months or so anyway. And reports say that during his gig in Finland two days ago, JMJ might have said that the new album was gonna be released next year.

Alas, here's hoping for a timely 40th anniversary release on Dec 2nd. :]
