Azimuth has grown on me, btw. I found myself playing the song in my head most of the day.

Take your point about this being the only official release of Web Spinner but it’s bang average in my opinion, and I really wouldn’t miss it. It always feels to me like it belongs to the Electronica set and should be consigned to that era. Not sure why it reappeared in Bratislava.

Meanwhile, Azimuth is fantastic. Absolute banger, love it. It sounds and feels to me like a modern day Globetrotter. It pulls off that trick of being highly melodic while comprising largely of percussive tracks. As you say, it’s an easy track to get stuck in your head. I think it’s brilliant and could easily see it sitting as the “Part 4” – the catchy, single track – on a wider album based around the same sounds and themes.

Azimuth, definition – “Mathematically, the relative position vector from an observer (origin) to a point of interest is projected perpendicularly onto a reference plane (the horizontal plane); the angle between the projected vector and a reference vector on the reference plane is called the azimuth. When used as a celestial coordinate, the azimuth is the horizontal direction of a star or other astronomical object in the sky.” – Wikipedia.

Maybe there’s an album to be made, building on the existing Azimuth track, based on themes of mathematics and astronomy.

Money, money, money...

For sure, and there’ s a point in any artist’s career when money matters – e.g. starting out, that first record deal, changing labels, clearing debts, a bad divorce, funding a big idea, whatever. But JMJ is now 77 years old and recently sold his back catalogue to BMG for however many millions. What his does now should be about consolidating his legacy and perhaps, about taking risks, trying something new and being creative, freed from any sense of obligation. These last three live releases could have been much more innovative and expressive of the context in which they happened, in my opinion.

For the V400 release, I like the idea of continuing the hybrid real and VR world by introducing an NFC tag and extending our real world with a virtual one with extras.

True - that's a good point and one I overlooked. The "phygital" concept was a good fit with Versailles 400.

I've admittedly listened to tracks like Web Spinner and Azimuth relatively little, so I can't really remember what they sound like off the top of my head - Herbalizer somewhat, but even when trying to recollect that one my mind first comes up with Paris Underground (possibly the grandfather to all these concert-only tracks of the recent 10 years) instead

Oh yeah, I meant sound/"genre"-wise to me there's a continuity like Paris Underground -> Herbalizer -> Web Spinner etc.

Other concert-only tracks that already have been mentioned and ones like The Sun, Statistics Adagio etc. are in their own leagues
