I guess we can conclude that any digital version of the album is trash. Kinda sad really...

I noticed this myself, I like both but the difference is very subtle if you don't pay attention. Maybe the vinyl was cut from a later file. We know that the vinyl's were cut only a few weeks ago.

From our chat I got the impression that the musicians contribute something like this: Jarre wants a certain sound but he is not fluent with synthesizer X, so he ask Rimbert or Geiss or Garraud to program it. Or, Jarre has created a sequence and is not satisfied so he ask Rimbert to play it differently, as instructed by JMJ, until they reach something they like and then create it in the box. Or, Jarre had made a few different mixes and ask for input from the team. He's not opposed to input and ideas and suggestions.

Not one word of your accusation has been confirmed or even hinted at by anybody, in any interviews or comment, at any time in history.

To all... you have totally blown something I said WAY out of context by jumping on the negative bandwagon being driven by Plate of Chips. Did those who criticized what I said actually read what I posted word for word because its clear you do not even understand what I was saying. I do NOT and I repeat - I DO NOT claim, state as fact or make any accusation of any sorts that Jarre did none of the works he is credited for - FULL STOP. Regardless of what you think, what you perceived, I was merely saying that Jarre has worked with others, be it sound design, be it mixing, be it editing, be it collaborating, etc etc - it is NOT solely Jean Michel Jarre. That is what I was saying. Jeez. Maybe if I used a piece of paper and coluring crayons some would have understood better.

You could have asked me what I meant by this or meant by that, but no, that was just too easy a thing to do. Instead you misinterpret something said. You made it to suit YOUR needs to make a big deal out of it. Now, THAT is nonsense.

However, this group is known for its jumping the band wagon and here is yet another classic example.

Seriously guys, have you nothing else better to do than pull apart someones posting/thoughts and reassembled them into something that does not suit your criteria!

Now how about letting people on this forum have their say, express their thoughts, say what they want to say just like you guys do and cease ripping everything they say apart for the benefit of passing the time away and asserting your authority.

Some of you may have huge expanding collections, know people, interviewed people, know the in's and out's of music and Jarre, but that does not give you the god given right to rip someones comments apart because you read it and assumed wrong.

Conclusion - Aren't we a fun filled lollipop triple dipped in misery. Seriously, lighten up.

I just verified my bank statements, the box wasn't charged for a second time. However, I just found out that they've billed the 6.93 EUR downloadable version of the album later on, and had only billed the physical item earlier... not sure if the 6.93 EUR would have been billed if I hadn't tried downloading the files off MyPlay on the 16th, but anyway.

Thus far my situation has been sorted out, the second box actually physically came to Finland but I asked them to ship it back, which they did.

Not looking forward to any kind of extra shenanigans come April 2016, though

So apparently the Q&A session ended early and the great question of the Electronica Trailer opening track (30 seconds) was not answered. D'oh.

My card was billed after I pressed on the big banner "download your music". Probably this is why they shipped the second boxes (they could count a purchase of mp3 version of the album as a purchase of the deluxe box!).

Yeah I just looked on Facebook and it was already done. It tought it was supposed to go on longer

I think it's terribly naive to think that surrounded by talented musicians at various points of making albums, Jarre didn't take snippets of creation from these people and use them to his advantage - I know I would if I was making a record that I wanted to SELL and MAKE ME MONEY - if someone said '' what about this for a solo, or what about this for a sequence and I thought it would enhance things, I'd use it and if necessary, pay 'em to keep their name out of it and their mouths shut.

Sylvain Durand wrote the choir parts for Rendezvous 2. Michel Geiss programmed the Matrisequencer for Equinoxe 6/7, Rendezvous 4 / 5, Revolutions. Dominique Perrier the solo for Magnetic Fields 2 and many for the China Concerts etc. But so what, Jarre brought it all together for us.

This new album is Jean Michel Jarre

Blimey, that's gotta be it.

After all, all of those new "order confirmed!" messages started pouring in after I clicked on the "download album" link and then didn't get to download the album...

... still can't find any kind of an MP3 download page for the whole album, in fact! But alas, now everything is fine.
