I'm now 99% sure that the album is continuous - Oxygene 14/15/16 are in the same key, and the single release of Oxygene 17 does not have proper fade-ins/fade-outs (the "whoosh" white noise sound comes pretty much out of nowhere).

As for the "loudness war" issue discussed above, here's how it looks

Fully agree on part 4 and 8 parallel. He should've hired Boris Blank, Mike Oldfield or Vangelis for the remaster and remixing job because he and/or Sony has screwed it up so many times now.
To be frank, I would never judge mastering based on any (downloadable or streamable) MP3.

It's gotta be from CD or vinyl (or a FLAC made directly of either of those), IMO.

(To be frankenstein, I'm not expecting the actual album to be mastered any better either ;P Aside from the vinyl version, perhaps...)

The image looks alright, not great not terrible. But what I'm really curious about is the vinyl master!

Still need to get a hold of a vinyl rip of Electronica 2 now that I think about it :P

DR of the iTunes version is around 6. Not good. Oxygene 7-13 level.

Jote wrote:Funny thing - there was an official announcement of the single at 10:00 CET on the official facebook page but it's gone now.
And that original announcement was different - longer and had some nice footage from the current tour. Odd that they pulled it.

Very good and nice ambient, but this is not JMJ and Oxygene style.

Are you sure this is him? Doesn't sound like Jean Michel at all imho.

The music is the same you can hear in the excerpts from jpc and other online shops.

I must say, that with the exception of O17, the album is sounding very underwhelming.

if it's saying anything, that's the only track you'd probably heard full-length

I bet that's exactly what people were saying in 1984 :)

I agree on that until Zoolook, afterwards it's not really that different from each other anymore. Yes there's not doubt some amazing and different stuff done, but Zoolook really was a early creative peak that I doubt anyone will every be able to reproduce, let alone pass. It's such an amazing album!
