This is slightly off-topic. MyPlayDirect related.
Some of you might remember that a couple of weeks ago (Aug 28th to be exact) being confused about the contents of the Electronica "regular fan box" and "deluxe fan box" I asked them using their online comment form what a "digipack" was, and, more importantly,
whether there was a difference between bonus content in the boxes. I got a prompt reply saying "good question, I'll forward this to our marketing team". The reply to my seemingly simple question did not arrive for a couple of days, so I followed-up and got a reply stating that "we still haven't heard from our escalation team". After FIVE weeks of waiting I told them that it's really unacceptable that they are not able to answer a seemingly basic question, which, if you think about it boils down to "
WHAT IS IT EXACTLY THAT I'LL BE PAYING FOR". Then, Electronica got released, so the contents of both boxes were known not only to MyPlayDirect, but to general public as well. But still no answer. I stopped caring, because I had already found out about the differences from this very forum. Then, two days ago - a reply from MyPlayDirect! Have a look:
We've now heard an answer from our escalation team and they've confirmed that the term digipack is a type of packaging for a CD. This is a flip out case rather than the standard plastic case. We hope this answers your question.
I was speechless. Not only they ignored my MAIN question about the differences (which is moot, since the deluxe box was sold out), but when you think about it, it
took them NINE weeks to get an answer from the mighty "escalation team" about the meaning of the term "digipack"!!! (which I learned about anyway from Dr_Jones a day after sending the original inquiry).
This is really pathetic and laughable and I'll be writing about this to JMJ's management. As for MyPlayDirect, unless they start carrying "Musique Pour Supermarche" they have lost my business forever.
