I still do remember that he actually used the word promise. He might have got carried away with his English if that is the case.

I dont know what you are talking about. He already walked, then ran, then flied - in that order. You are reading way too much into rumours, misinterpretations, misquotes, etc. We do know that AeroProd and JMJ is very careful about not confirming anything until it is 100% sure, so JMJ would never unofficially promise an album that wasnt sure. If he did promise it, it would be backed by at least an official press release that would circulate in the media and news agencies. Until now he has only said he is working on a new album. Being busy touring, one can understand it isnt coming out. We just got a full CD of old unreleased rarities, stuff that wouldnt have seen the light of day if Dreyfus has lived another 15 years, so no complaints, please! :-)

Secondly, if there is a decline it has nothing to do with internet rumours. Only hardcore fans like we people here read them, and we count a few hundred. We make up 0.1% of his fanbase, if not less (literally). Most fans do not follow him as close as we do, and hence they dont sit around feeling "misinformed" or being annoyed by rumours that are not confirmed. I assure you, these rumours and brief comments WE read a few times a year make NO impact on his general fan base.

Besides, I dont think there is a decline in popularity. No more decline than any other artist. 110 concerts in 3 years... maybe the biggest French tour ever in terms of ticket sales.... If that is a decline, many other artists would kill to experience that kind of decline :-)

My comment still stands. But considering you didn't know what I was talking about, you replied with quite a lot.

"Two years ago my father died, my mother last year. Last year I divorced...I put off everything. But now finally preparing new album..."

He might has just begun - more - effectively working on the material.
