I think there are all the good reasons to think this concert will be hold to launch the new album.

As Alessandro Fantini pointed out in our forum at Jarre.it, Saint-Exupery is supposed to have been inspired in writing his novels by his flights between France and Morocco.

I think this concert in Morrocco will be a beautiful thing.

Jarp2600 and Synthesist: You both don't seem too fond of Morrocco or it's people (this is my perception from your posts). As I live in the U.S. I don't have the same experience as you but as far as my limited experience they seem like an amazing culture that has been exploited in the past by european(and possibly U.S.) countries like many countries in the MiddleEast/Asia.(I know this is a bit off-topic but...).

Sounds a bit racist or maybe someone you know was offended by the Moroccon culture? Not trying to start any arguments but it could be read as offensive. BTW I'm not Morroccon, just curious.

If it is because of immigrants in your country, you can never (and should never) judge a culture by those standards. I need to be educated (and was kinda shocked to read it on this forum especially from two great open minded people like Jarp2600 and Synthesist), that's why I ask the question.

No I have absolutely nothing against the people from Morocco and I am definately not a racist. As I wrote, I have nothing against that country (inclusing their culture and so on), but since some stupid heads from my country have made people angry in a country like Morocco, I just don't know if I have what it takes to visit the country. I think Im just scared by those terror groups who have put prizes on Danes. That has nothing to do with the people in Morocco.

OK, the country isn't even in that region..., it's in the north of western-africa for example.... (totaly ignoring the fact it was them who exploited spain for a moment)

I'll say he has good reasons to be a little carefull IMO...

Personaly I have nothing agains PPL from moroco, but in that area I'm not so sure they are fond of us (or PPL from the USA) so I'm still in the process of deciding I want to take that risk myself.

This is not my biggest worry though, the biggest question for me will be if there's gonna be a full band on stage, if there's not a band on stage I'm not going, period.

If I wanna watch one guy miming on stage I will watch some DJ instead...

It's a - very likely - suggest that a concert in Merzouga would be Outdoor. How can we imagine anything else considering the place ? By the way, in the email, AERO PROD just said " concert " and will give more info as soon as possible " regarding this show ".

Moreother, keep in mind there is a difference between the date of the announcement and the preparations for an event like this.

Uh yeah...I was referring more to religious backgrounds..i.e. Muslim, etc. But I guess I need to be more literal...

Thanks Synthesist. for the clarification! I completely understand but... ...do you think they are really targeting Danes? Now? I mean I though Madonna and her adoption was at the top of the pops... I mean news... I think one good American hostage such as myself is worth about 5 good Danes (of course I'm kidding). Maybe in Baghdad I would worry. But Morocco is geographically different as stated by Antigoon.

Also I would assume that with an International presence like Jarre, security would be tight.

Or finally... if you're gonna go to that great tea party in the sky wouldn't a Jarre concert be the best send off!

Well, I don't know (yet) - but it seems unlikely he will pull of some random event in the middle of nowhere with his new album coming up... so yeah, a showcase would make sense..

hah! he did it years before.... presented "Metamorphoses" in the middle of nowhere.... and then the showcase in the Man ray....
