I don't think so.

I find this situation downright puzzling. This is a niche release available only for purchase at one place. And it goes for €300. Box-sets of "proper" JMJ albums (Oxygene Trilogy, Equinoxe Infinity, Planet Jarre) that were available for 1/3 or 1/4 of this price from many retailers have not sold out yet. This, however, is a "cat in a bag" (not even audio previews, and the description of the contents is very vague and mentions only CD2) for €300.

I doubt this will sell well (and thus I'm hesitating on spending that much only to see the price drop massively after several months).

I think they are simply trying to cash in on the "artsy-ness" factor - I mean the Souris Calle vinyls went for sth like €999 and they sold out, so... I don't think JMJ fans are the target audience of this release.

I have recently downloaded the app and I must say that initial impressions are really positive and I am quite impressed with Jean-Michel has achieved here. I hope that the app is updated in the future with additional musical options/variations to make it a truly infinite album.

Really impressed so far, however long-term interest is the big question for me. I'm keen to see if the replay value over the weeks and months ahead holds up (or if it becomes boring), if it does remain fresh and exciting then I'll really be astounded.

It's absolutely worth the purchase price for those of you who are on the fence.

I agree with you. 300 euros is a lot, especially when you know the Equinoxe Infinity box was 80 and included 2 CDs and 2 LPs too. Who knows, if it doesn't sell out, they'll throw in a discount?

That's another thing that I suspect (I honestly don't see how it is supposed to sell well) and it is kind of stopping me from jumping on it right now... I have enough problems with "buyer's remorse" as it is.

Which is odd, given that FOUR "EON snaphots" were registered at SACEM. Maybe the fourth will be on the deluxe version for €600 :>

Annoying I can't get access to it without an Iphone or I patch - whatever that is??? Is it one of those oversized portable telephones/computers that you can do lots of unnecessary things on?

How can I get this app ( what is an app ??? ) into my home computer and do with it what it is intended for?

EoN from Jean Michel Jarre is a cool app that in a cool way is a modern Music Album. Kind if the 2019 version of a CD. It's dynamic, ever changing and kind of unique version each time you play it.

On the one hand, I quite like the box set, but on the other... €300 is a lot and I paid less for the two Electronica box sets together and that was already really expensive.
But that box set ended up being four records, four CD's, multiple posters, USB sticks and much else that was in the set in the end.
I'll wait a bit and see what'll happen, but I'm quite unsure if I'm pulling the trigger on this release.
